Thread: Weddings at DL?

  1. #1

    Thumbs up Weddings at DL?

No, not for me...but for a family member.

Anyway, my question is what is the avg. cost of doing a wedding at DL? In the park? At the DLH? At the GCH?
I just want to know how much it would be to pay Disney for the event, and are there any requirements? (such as using them to cater, etc)

Thanks for any help you can provide.

There was a previous thread about this not too long ago. One thing I remember from it is that there are no weddings allowed in DL. Just not enough room. If one were to rent the place out for a night, then a wedding would be allowed.
There are ballrooms at DLH for this sort of thing.
Big problem I foresee: if the reception isn't interesting enough, the guests will sneak off and into DL.

Try the search feature. "wedding Disneyland" (You don't want all the threads about WDW.)

Actually, you can be married inside Disneyland. It's just REALLY REALLY expensive, and you have to go through Disney to do it. I have seen a wedding in the small garden next to the castle (looking at the castle, it's on the left, and to the left of the path, before the bridge).

Very pretty, but they had to rope off a large area to do it, and there weren't that many people there (don't know if that was the decision of the bride and groom or of Disney's "spacing"). There was cake, a harpist, the ceremony, a picture taken in front of the castle of the entire wedding party and the guests... Very nice, and pretty quiet.

For the right price, you can even have the Glass Coach take you down Main Street to the castle. So yes, it can be done.

I think I saw the same wedding. It was nice. I was trying to be a lookyloo and a guard shoo'd me away. Come on, if you are going to have a wedding in DL when the park is open then you have to expect people are going to look. I wasn't being obtrusive, just stood in one spot a little too long I guess.

The during-park-hours, Castle-side weddings you refer to can only be booked through JTB, and are offered only to Japanese citizens. Seriously.

If you don't qualify for the JTB package, but want to get married inside the park, you can book through Fairytale Weddings. They have pre-opening and after-hours packages available, starting around $60,000.

And for those of you who aren't rich, you can get married on the grounds of the Disneyland Resort Hotels.

There's a small, but beautiful courtyard at the GCH which looked spectacular for a wedding when we stayed there. And of course, then the bride and groom could just go upstairs to their honeymoon "suite".

Really?!? That's kinda interesting. I wonder why. Do you know AVP? Just curious

Here is the link to Disney's wedding site:

    http://disneyland.disney.go.com/dlr/weddings/index

Lots of info and some sample pricing. Again, these are for weddings at the resort hotels.

Thumbs up I got married at the Disneyland Hotel!

I got married at the Disneyland Hotel in September 2001. It was the best thing that I have ever done for myself. The coordinators at Fairytale Weddings took all of the hassle out of the preparations. I just kind of arrived at my wedding. It was a very "be our guest" experience. I had a small wedding (30 guests) at the wedding pavilion/rose garden. All of the costs were included in my package (cake, champagne/sparkling cider toast, flowers for the ceremony, my bouquet, flowers for attendants, the officiant who conducted the ceremony, setup, seating, location, and a nice gift of two beautiful limited edition watches for my husband and I...not to mention our plane tickets, rental car, hotel room at the Disneyland hotel and a 5 day park hopper). Everything was coordinated beautifully by the pros at Disney. The only thing I had to worry about before was arriving, and afterward was how quickly I could make it to Splash Mountain. The price tag on all of this extravagance? We got all of the above products and services for the ***same exact price*** of simply booking a vacation of the same length through Walt Disney Travel. No... I am NOT joking! The only extra add-on item I splurged on was hiring a Disney photographer. I purchased the smallest photo package, and he took TONS of great pictures... even though there was supposed to be a limit of about 25 for my package. The photographer and developed photos were around $200. I could not recommend a DL resort hotel wedding enough!

One more thing.... also included was a harpist who played Disney tunes throughout the ceremony!

Oh how cute! I've always said that I wanted to get married at Disneyland. I hope one day I do!! It sounds so great. What greater backdrop than Sleeping Beauty's castle. You even get the pumpkin carriage ride! I've spend endless hours roaming through the Fairy Tale Weddings section of Disneyland.com and am in awe!! I only hope I marry rich!! LOL

How cute is that wedding at Disneyland???

When I was there last summer, we saw a bride in the Cinderella carriage, with 2 powder wig attendants, and it was the cutest thing I've ever seen!!! I took pictures and I don't even know who this person is! ha! I vow to do my vows again at 20 years, at DL. I only have 4 more years to go! It sounds perfectly magical and perfect for us DL freaks!

You've got that right! I'm in Seattle and you can't even touch a CONDO for $100K!

It was very cute to see the bride in the carriage....if I renew my vows there, it will be sans carriage! I NEED to keep MY house! ha!
