Plan: Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure; Disney Springs; International Premium Outlets

Actual: Like yesterday, we were up at 9am and out the door around 10:25am, heading over to Universal for the last time. We paid for parking, got the little blue courtesy slip under the wiper, and this time parked in ET 263.

We did the usual temp & security checks, and this time headed straight to Islands of Adventure; after finally getting through the turnstile (where it again did NOT accept my finger scan), we went to rent an ECV around 11:10am. They AGAIN only had the ones with a canopy left, and the lead Megan was slightly rude about giving me the same accommodation I had received yesterday at the other park (a no-canopy price of $55); she wanted the other employee's name and she made some snippy remarks about how they do things differently over here. In the end, she agreed to the no-canopy price and even ensured I got an ECV that had a little more leg room.

We checked wait times and then went to get a return time for The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man (12:15pm @ 11:25pm; standby = 70mins) and then just wandered around the area. We went into the Toon Extra shop and I bought some gift cards with $5 loaded onto each one (3 different Harry Potter ones and one Minion) plus a reusable Minions bag and a bottle of Coke Zero.

Reign of Kong was showing a 25min wait so we went there as slow as my ECV would let me, but it had gone down by the time we arrived; therefore, we started back towards Spider-Man. I checked the wait time a little while later and saw that it now showed Kong as 10mins, so we turned around and went back around 12:10pm! They had me park the ECV outside and transferred me to a wheelchair, and we were on fairly quickly.

Unfortunately, the attraction malfunctioned between the 2nd and the 3rd room; we sat in the dark at a complete stop for part of it and also without sound. When we finally got to the 3rd room, there were no special effects (e.g., shaking of the vehicle, which James was fine with!), so they gave us Express Passes to use on any attraction later when we got off.

We collected my ECV and slowly headed back to ride Spider-Man around 1pm; they also require a wheelchair transfer and had none, so they eventually just had me park it and took us up through the exit to get right on the attraction since it was taking so long to locate the wheelchair.

This is a very cool attraction, but it does bother me somewhat; however, James really likes it so I just close my eyes when I need to!

We were very hungry by now (1:30pm), so we went to the closest restaurant, Blondie's; they sat us at a table for two inside and I went over to order: Nathan's Famous Foot Long Dog Platter (served with crinkle cut fries) for me, Tuna Salad Sandwich Combo (multi-grain sub roll, served with fresh toppings, pickle, potato salad and Sea Salt Kettle Chips) for James, and a Coke Zero to share. When they brought us our food, they had included an extra Coke Zero as a birthday present!

The food was very good; afterwards, we headed towards the back of the park and around to Hogsmeade to use our Express Passes on the Hogwarts Express to King's Cross Station. They didn't take the passes, but did direct us on to the alternative queue right away. It seems like this queue is better suited for ECVs than the queue at the other station, or at least I didn't bang into as much this time ~ LOL!

When we got to Diagon Alley, we again went over to The Hopping Pot; this time I used Mobile Order for my frozen butterbeer and James wandered around checking things out while I waited for my order to be ready. After waiting about 15mins with no response, I went up to the counter and was told I should have come up immediately; they were one of the few places that you didn't have to wait for your order to show as ready for pickup ~ HUH? How was I supposed to know that, the app didn't tell me that! GRRR

I sat in my ECV enjoying my butterbeer, but not the brain freezes, for the last time! Afterwards, we went back by Gringott's and discussed trying to use the Express Passes here; however, in the long run, we ultimately decided we weren't up to the jostling attraction and just looked around Diagon Alley as we headed out. It was still just way too busy, and the ECV limits my sight-seeing, as Im afraid of running into somebody.

    Monday, March 8, 2021 (70 degrees) ~ Part II
Plan: Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure; Disney Springs; International Premium Outlets

We checked out the Knight Bus that was parked outside,

and then slowly made our way over to get a return time for The Bourne Stuntacular (4pm @ 3:45pm). We looked around the Hello Kitty store across the street where The Lucy Tribute used to be; they have a ton of cute stuff, but the clothing is sized too small for me, plus I prefer sleeveless and just couldn't find anything. I did ram into a display pretty good though ~ LOL!!!

We had a restroom break and then went back to get into the Bourne queue around 4:15pm; this time they had a wheelchair for me to transfer to right away! Another great show

Afterwards, we collected my ECV and headed next door to the Universal Horror Make-up Show at 5:15pm; loved it as always!

We were done for the day, so we headed towards the exit; I returned the ECV (seeing the same employee from Modesto! I told her what happened this morning at the other park and told her I hope she doesn't get in trouble for doing the kind thing) and we stopped to check out It's a Wrap one last time. We also went to the Universal Studios Store in Citiwalk, where I bought a mini backpack, lanyard, and Harry Potter reusable bag around 6pm.

We then headed out to our car, admiring the tree decorated with the Mardi Gras beads (Universal Studios had stationary floats throughout the park, where Mardi Gras performers would occasionally throw beads to the guests as they passed by; I managed to get a couple of strands yesterday & today, and later gave them to Lois daughter Anna).

We used Google Maps to get us to a nearby Krystal's to the north of us (they no longer have stores in Kissimmee or east of the International Outlet Stores where we used to go); but it got confused while we were still in the parking garage and was taking us in a roundabout way on I-4; I changed the location to a store to the northeast and we were taken through side streets to get there. I guess it was because of heavy commute traffic on the main streets, plus we were trying to avoid using toll roads, but it took about 20mins to get there!

We ordered the 12 Krystal Sackful, which came with 12 Krystal burgers, 2 sides (we got Tater Tots for a change from fries = very good!), and 2 drinks (Coke Zero for me and iced tea for James). They were kind of slow, even though we were the only customers inside; the drive-up was doing good business though! We ate the tots and a couple of the burgers, then gathered up the leftovers and left around 7:15pm for the International Premium Outlets.

I got really excited when I looked over to the right side while we were driving on I-4 at one point and saw a Carvana car vending machine ~ I wish I could have gotten a photo, but we zipped by too quickly! I've always wanted to see one in person.

We got to the Outlets around 7:40pm and James dropped me off before parking; I hurried over to the Disney's Character Warehouse, but they were blocking the door and wouldn't let me in! They weren't very busy inside and there was no one waiting in the queue outside, plus they still had another 20mins before they closed, so I was quite annoyed with them ~ I guess they didn't want my business! We could have been done within that 20mins, since we'd already seen a lot of the stuff they still had in the store.

I turned around, met up with James, and we left, not interested in anything else. We drove over to the Walmart by the condo, where James spent about 40mins inside trying to find things! I'd waited in the car, as I wasn't interested in going inside; of course, maybe if I HAD gone inside, he wouldn't have taken so long!

We got back to the condo around 9:10pm and did our usual routine; I was in bed around 11pm and James around 1am.

Things we missed: We were able to hit everything on our must-do list we wanted to today; although I still wished I'd experienced Escape from Gringott's, Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure, Revenge of the Mummy, & Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey (my body was just not up to riding them).

    Thoughts about the day:
    • I hope I didn't get the ECV employee from Modesto in trouble!
    • I had liked the Fast & Furious Supercharged attraction the other day, but James didn't care to see it again, nor Shrek 4-D nor the E.T. Adventure nor the Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon; I think we just are feeling our ages after so many days on the go!
    • We love Krystal burgers, but were disappointed in how long it took to get there & get our food; it also prevented us from going to the International Disney Outlet one last time.

    Tuesday, March 9, 2021 (75 degrees)
    Plan: Finish shopping; finish packing

Actual: We got up around 9am and headed out towards Disney Springs around 10:35am; this time we went straight to the Orange Garage! James dropped me off and went to park the car, while I went through the temp & security checks before heading to Gideon's Bakehouse in The Landing. I put my name in around 11:10am and was told it was about a 75min wait. I asked about delays, and they said if I was running late (like I was at lunch somewhere) to text them back and let them know.

I called James and he was at the World of Disney!!! WTH??? I'd told him I didn't need anything from there ~ honestly! So, I told him to meet me at the busses so we could go ride the Disney Skyliner. He was being a brat, but we met up and went to the stop for the Caribbean Beach Resort, since it was the"Hub" for the Skyliner. We waited 25mins for a bus to arrive (two for the nearby Riviera Resort had come by in that time, which we should have taken in hindsight), and then we had to wait for a driver change, and then it took forever to stop at all of the stops at the CBR!!! I'd forgotten it was so big and there might be multiple stops; the Riviera Resort only has one stop!

We asked the driver which stop we should get off for the Skyliner, and she suggested we switch to the inter-resort shuttle, which was at the same stop we were at right then. So, we switched and had a very nice driver take us around, but it still took quite a while to get over to the Jamaica bus stop. We got off and I walked around the wheelchair party getting loaded into another bus, whereas James waited for them to move out of the way. He's faster than me anyway, so I figured he would catch up and I continued across the parking lot towards the Skyliner station. Well, my bratty husband FINALLY catches up with me at the station; we ask who had the shorter line (Epcot vs. DHS) and were directed over to the DHS accessible line.

We boarded our gondola around 12:20pm and were soon gliding on our way to DHS; of course, then I get my text to return to Gideon's!!! James suggests I take a bus to Disney Springs from DHS, so I go over to the busses after we get off of the Skyliner whereas James gets in line to ride back to the CBR. Of course, the busses don't go to the Springs from the theme parks, only to the resorts! I am screaming inside, so I head back to ride the Skyliner back to the CBR to catch a bus to the Springs. While riding back, I text Gideon's back and say I'd just gotten my food at the Rainforest Cafe (a necessary white lie) and would be there as soon as I could.

There is nobody waiting for the Epcot line, not even James, so he must have made good time. I head back to the bus stop and proceed to wait for 35mins!!! Only an AK bus and the inter-resort shuttle came in the first 25mins, and there were a lot of people waiting for busses with me by the time I left! After about 20mins, I used the bus stop phone to find out how much longer the wait was; I was on hold about 10mins before they came back and said the bus would be there shortly. I'd fully expected James to come walking up from a round-trip to Epcot and find me still sitting there!

Lack of food and patience is boiling up within me; James calls after about 30mins to see where I am ~ he was at the Springs!!! He'd gone to Epcot and then back to the Riviera Resort, where he'd gotten off of the Skyliner, walked through the lobby, and onto a bus to the Springs. I was really steaming by the time my bus arrived, but I held it all inside of me!

I went through another security screening and over to Gideon's around 1:35pm, where I checked in and was welcomed into the outside queue! Oh, thank goodness ~ I would have cried had they said it was too late. Most of the queue is in the shade with a ledge to sit on, except for a spot about halfway down with a break in it and no ledge ~ of course, that is the spot where I endure the longest wait in the queue!

After about 15mins, I am welcomed into the inner sanctum of the store; the decor reminded me of something out of Harry Potter, even the employees are wearing robes! There are only about 6 parties waiting inside with 3 cashiers, so the queue goes quickly. I order the maximum of 6 cookies [2 Original Chocolate Chip, 2 Limited Edition for March (chocolate chip & peanut butter), 1 Triple Chocolate, and 1 Peanut Crunch] and impulsively got a slice of the Red Velvet Cake, because it looked so delicious and I was very hungry and exit the store.

I called James around 2pm and told him I'd meet him at the Orange Garage (he'd gotten a Tropical Sunset Smoothie at Joffrey's while killing time waiting for me). We meet up and drive over to the Vineland Premium Outlets, me snacking on my cake along the way!

James dropped me off to get our name on the Disney Character Warehouse waitlist around 2:30pm while he went to park (102 people ahead of us ~ EEK!).

We met back up & went into the Food Court for lunch: I got the pizza combo again at Villa Fresh Italian Kitchen (3-cheese pizza slice, roasted potatoes, & a large Diet Pepsi) and James got the bourbon chicken, orange chicken, & brown rice again at Asian Chao. My pizza slice had some sort of Alfredo white sauce on it, which wasn't very good, so I only ate about half of it ~ the potatoes were tasty though!

We still had a lot of time, so I searched for nearby Walmart stores, found one about 10mins away, and we drove over there; I waited in the car while James went inside (rubbing compound).

He came back and our plan was to return the way we had come, thereby avoiding toll roads; however, when we drove out of the side parking lot intending to make a U-turn, there was an onramp and Google Maps was directing me on to it. We make the turn and then see the dreaded sign about it being a toll road ~ oh, the bad words came out of my mouth repeatedly!!! As it turns out, we weren't charged the $3.95 daily usage rate, only the toll; such a small amount for such an expensive trip, but I'd had a really emotional day & was really ticked off!

We arrive back at the outlets and go into the Food Court to finish waiting; we were called back to the Disney outlet around 4:45pm, where we bought some more clothes, gifts, and other things.

We went back into the Food Court, where I bought our sandwiches from Subway for tomorrow's trip home (veggie for James and a turkey/cheese one for me); I also picked up a bottle of Coke Zero from a vending machine, cheaper than the ones at Subway) and then we went back to the car.

We stopped at the Tropical Smoothie Cafe, where James got another large Sunrise Sunset Smoothie while I waited in the car, and then stopped to refuel the car at the Walmart gas station by the resort (now $2.63/gallon).

We got back to the resort just before 6pm, and cleared out the car before heading over to the Business Office so we could print off our boarding passes.

I started a last-minute load of laundry & we finished packing what we could tonight; I was in bed around 10:45pm, but not sure about James.

    Thoughts about the day:
    • Holy cow, today was a VERY stressful day for me! James didn't care about the cookies, so he didn't share my stress (screaming inside)! I was also hot, humid, & hungry ~ not a good combination!
    • OMG ~ those cookies & the cake were so delicious! I froze 4 of the cookies when I got home to later share with my brother, and ate the 2 duplicates a few bites at a time; they are very dense and just wonderful, well worth the trouble!
    • We are ready to go home tomorrow.

    Wednesday, March 10, 2021 (75 degrees)
Plan: Check-out of Silver Lake; return rental car; fly home to Sacramento

Actual: We were both up by 7:50am, and started getting ready and packing up the last-minute stuff. We loaded up the car, drove over to the lobby, & I checked us out just before the official 10am check-out time.

We headed for 417 and then James dropped me off at Terminal B departures for American Airlines, so he could return the rental car and we wouldn't have to haul all of our luggage across the terminals again (we now have an extra 2 bags, which were originally nested when we flew out).

James had left the bags at the curb, and I started gradually moving them about 10 feet away to a bench in the shade. A Skycap came by with a cart and asked if I needed help & I told him I was waiting for James to return the car and then come back so we could check in our 4 bags. I thought we each needed to be present and show our IDs to allocate 2 bags to each one of us, but the Skycap said it wasn't necessary so I let him load the bags onto his cart and escort me inside to the Priority queue. There was one lady in line and no employees present, but someone showed up a few minutes later. The customer had 2 suitcases and eventually another lady showed up with a small dog that the first lady put into a soft-sided carrier! I was surprised they didn't have more help as a few more customers were now in line behind me, but another agent showed up after several minutes.

The Skycap brought the cart over and I showed him which bags were being checked, and I also showed the agent my ID and both boarding passes; he put 2 bags under my name and 2 under James', so that was great!

Then the Skycap escorted me over to a seating area near the TSA lines to wait for James & I sat down in one of the chairs. I started to pull my phone out of my purse, thinking James would call once he got closer when I was shocked to see him walking toward me! He'd returned the car to Alamo and then crisscrossed the terminals back to B from A.

We got in the TSA Pre-check line, which was pretty long but not NEARLY as long as the non-Pre-check line, and were through within about 10mins. This time, James had remembered to remove his suspenders and my face mask strap did not set off the detector!

We walked over to our Gate (B54) and waited to be called for boarding (again Group 1), then we got in line. We found our seats (2D & 2F) and put our bags underneath the row in front of us like we did on the first flight out from Sacramento. This time the seats seemed a bit lower, so we had to rearrange how we stowed them, but all was well.

We had a completely full flight and pushed back about 10mins early for our 1:25pm ET flight to Dallas. About 1:45pm ET, they offered us either a Turkey/Havarti/Arugula sandwich & chocolate chip cookie or a cheese plate, and we both opted for the sandwiches again, along with Coke Zero for me and ginger ale for James.

We both dozed a bit and were at our gate (A18) about 15mins early (after a very long taxi ride!). We took the Skylink over to our new gate (C22) and found a seat near the gate to wait. There was a food court across the way and I got some pretzel nuggets from Auntie Anne's, even though I wasn't really too hungry. They were fresh out of the oven & were very tasty though!

Right before we were to start boarding (Group 1), we headed over to stand near the start of the queue; there were several people hanging about, but no one in the actual queue yet. James was over to the side and I turned around to motion him to come over to where I was standing, and then someone tapped me on my shoulder; I was sure someone was going to tell me that the line started somewhere behind me, but instead it was a former co-worker of mine who was returning to Sacramento with his wife after a week in Panama! He had been a Treasurer and had an office on my floor, not far from my desk & he had lost his job on March 1st due to all of the outsourcing they had been doing for months. In fact, he'd been trying to find a new job since June 2020, when he was notified that his job was ending and he STILL had not found something comparable in all of that time. He said he wished he'd taken the buyout like I had in 2019. 😊

It was great to see him, and he ended up also sitting in First Class a row up and across the aisle. I texted Lois to tell her of the "small world" coincidence, as she also knew him!

We took our seats in 3A & 3B (this time we were in a Boeing 737-800) and were excited to see USB ports in the seatbacks in front of us, along with a place to hold your phone or tablet! We used my phone, which had the AA app installed (the notebook did not), and logged into the free in-flight entertainment to peruse their offerings. I was really excited to see the live-action Mulan movie available, so we queued that up to watch.

In the meantime, our flight was delayed about 30mins due to a burned-out light in one of the cargo holds; fortunately, it was easily fixed and we were on our way around 5:30pm (should have been 4:55pm). We watched Mulan (which was good, but a bit long), and then James dozed while I watched the original Frozen!

We were again offered the Turkey/Havarti/Arugula sandwich & cookie or a cheese plate, and this time I chose the cheese plate whereas James got the sandwich again. The cheese plate also had crackers, nuts, & some chocolate thing, and was very good! I also had my usual Coke Zero and James had ginger ale.

It had been raining in Sacramento all day, but had mostly stopped by the time we landed 25mins late around 7:15pm. We collected our bags and I requested an XL car (to handle all of our luggage!) via Lyft around 7:30pm; it was a 40min wait, which James wasn't too happy about, but the time went by quickly and soon I had a message that Kenneth had arrived in his black Cadillac Escalade! However, I was standing at the curb and didn't see him, so I called ~ silly me, he was at the north side of the building in the special Rideshare dropoff/pickup area (I had neglected to check on that little fact during all of my Rideshare research)! I took some of the bags with me and met Kenneth at his car, and then went back to where James was waiting inside (it was chilly outside, even to me!) with the rest of the bags (there were too many for him to handle on his own) & together we got them all back to where Kenneth was waiting.

It was a nice relaxing ride home (James doesn't like me to talk to the drivers so they don't get distracted, but I like to be friendly and Kenneth was very pleasant) and we arrived around 8:45pm.

We unloaded the car and took all of the bags inside, but no Sidney to greet us! He was sound asleep on my bed until we startled him awake! He looked a little confused and then broke out in a HUGE loud purr ~ so happy to see us!

    Thoughts about the day:
    • Again, First Class was definitely the best way to traverse the country!
    • It was fun to see Gaston again!
    • A long trip, but glad to be home.

    Steps: 6,400

    Looking forward to:
Next up is a trip to Disneyland in mid-May, since our Southwest airfare needs to be used by the end of October 2021. I was able to score the tickets & park reservations, but we can always move the trip to the fall if we decide to.

    Summary & Final Thoughts:

Although the trip started out on a low note due to the freak arctic storm in Texas, the bulk of the trip went very well and we had a mostly fun (albeit long, hot, & humid) trip! Next time we'll book 3 weeks at the condo and add more non-theme park days!

    Highlights include:

    • Flying First Class!
    • The ECV REALLY saved my back, knee, & feet on the theme park days!
    • Yummy food at the San Angel Inn, Coral Reef Restaurant, Tony's Town Square Restaurant, Melting Pot, & TGI Friday's; the pulled pork sandwich at Sonny's BBQ & Flame Tree BBQ; Krystal burgers, Gideon's Bakehouse cookies, and the frozen butterbeer at Universal!
    • Seeing some of our favorite classic attractions again: The American Adventure, Test Track, Impressions de France, Muppet*Vision 3D ("Up, Chuck!!!"), The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, Country Bear Jamboree, Carousel of Progress, Kilimanjaro Safaris, & the Universal Horror Make-up Show.
    • Experiencing some new-to-us attractions that quickly became new favorites, especially Frozen Ever After, Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway, & the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.
    • Riding Rise of the Resistance together TWICE!!!
    • Being the Rebel Spy on Star Tours!
    • Loved the Titanic Exhibition ~ lots of great artifacts on exhibit here.
    • Unexpectedly getting the Attractions Assistance Pass at Universal!
    • Catching up again with Mike!
    • Some memorable staff interactions, including our server Roy at Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville and the ECV attendant at Universal Studios, who didn't charge us for a canopied ECV.
    • Catching up with former co-worker Gaston!

    Lowlights include:

    • The parks were supposed to be only 35% capacity, but 35% of what? The parks felt very congested, especially DHS, AK, & Universal.
    • We really missed having FastPass!!! The lines were crazy long without it.
    • We missed some of our favorites due to COVID-forced closures: Dolphin Days show and the Sky Tower (Sea World), the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular (DHS), TTA Peoplemover & Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor (MK), the Festival of the Lion King & Finding Nemo (AK), & all fireworks, parades, and character interactions.
    • The Mobile Order part of the app needs to be modified so that ALL of the foods are customizable!!!
    • Virtual waitlists are good & bad; good in that you can spend that time doing something other than waiting in a line, and bad in that you can't be spontaneous in your shopping!
    • Being in the ECV, I missed out on a lot of things (e.g., flower displays at Epcot & animals at AK) because I was having to constantly watch the crowds around me.
    • Some of the new-to-us attractions either aren't worth the long waits to us or were hard on us physically, including Slinky Dog Dash, Na'vi River Journey, & Avatar Flight of Passage (Disney) and Fast & Furious Supercharged & Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon (Universal).
    • We hated the high-80s heat & humidity & the long lines were awful; our next trip will be in January ~ LOL!
    • It would be nice if the ECV canopies at Universal were removable by the staff if not wanted by the guest!
    • I'm married to a procrastinator, which definitely affected us this trip!
    • We are starting to feel every bit of our 60+ years!

If you stuck with me through the end, thank you!!! Until next time...

How were mask enforcement and cleanliness at Sea world? And the people? Cooperative with masks and social distancing?

People seemed to be following the rules there as well; if there were markers in the queue, people were spaced out. We didn't ride any rides, and avoided the queue for the penguins, so we didn't pay too much attention to those queues. Exhibits were OK; the shark tunnel had markers on the belt of where to stand. The stadiums were following the every other row & spacing parties out, and it did look like people were cooperating. We didn't feel too crowded when in stores or getting food, but I wouldn't call it 6 feet away! But I didn't feel like telling people to back off, so that's a good thing ~ LOL!

While I think about it. Deckerts Medical supply for an ECV at DL. They are more agile than the Disney ones and best of all you can ride it back to your hotel. It is also cheaper. They asked me questions about my mil's height weight etc so they could give her one that fit her well. We never had an issue with battery or anything. We stayed at the Quality Inn on Manchester that trip. They had a courtyard area they had us park and plug it in at night. Hers was one of three that week.
They were recommended to me by Mal (and I know Mammasilva used to recommend them), I believe she has had a bad battery while in the park and she said they had a new one to her inside the park fairly quickly iirc.
The first morning I went to locate it at the hotel as it was dropped before our park time. It was near the breakfast room. Some lady was asking me all kinds of questions, I thought she was interested in renting one. Nope, she was trying to convince me that the one they sent was too big and her company is cheaper yadada. I said I would stick with the known company that I know has great customer service.
    Ok back to read more

Thank you for the suggestion...I will check them out! There is also a rental place at the Camelot, where we usually stay, but their prices work out to be the same as DL's for a 3-day rental.

Finally finished it all. Fast and Furious and Kong are both exactly what they are on the tram tour in Hollywood. Somehow we enjoy them much more on the tram tour than as their stand alone counter parts in Orlando. Maybe because we haven't waited in lines for them? Spiderman is the same ride platform as Transformers and I enjoy Transformers more. Spiderman is fun just Transformers is better.

Darn...I wish I'd known they were that similar! I couldn't tell by the description in the Rider Guide, just that it had a motion sickness warning like almost all of their rides do!

Whistler can do teacups once a trip IF he is feeling really good to begin with. Flik's, Dumbo, carousel are out if he is feeling at all bad, even the circle is enough. Transformers and Spiderman don't bother him. The Mummy actually sets him off, so he hasn't been on Florida's. We think it is the backwards in the dark. Soarin' and Star Tours he can't do an edge seat with the digital screens, he was fine before but especially the bend in the digital screen on Soarin'.

Neither one of us can handle tea cups anymore; I could as a young adult, but haven't been able to in over 30 years now! Funny story: we hadn't been riding Tea Cups since getting married in 1984; we were stationed in Warner Robins GA afterwards and went to WDW 3 times before moving back to California in 1989. My brother & I went to Disneyland in March 1990 and I was so excited to get to ride the Tea Cups again! Yeah...about 10 seconds into the ride, I was SO nauseous! My brother stopped spinning the cups, but it was too late...took me about 90mins to feel human again!

Sometimes James will skip Star Tours at Disneyland if he's feeling iffy; we used to always get put in the back row, but now usually get the front row due to my health issues (extra leg room is nice, but I actually don't like being so close to the screen). Fortunately, we both LOVE Soarin', so no issues there!

Also, he always asks to sit in the middle of the 2nd row on Indy (and Dinosaur), except they currently have the 2nd row blocked because of COVID so he will have to make do with wherever they put him!

It's interesting how things affect different people in different ways!
