Train down time duration does seem extreme. Supposedly due to replacing all the track while they took it down for TRON anyway. I think I read somewhere that is why more recently they removed the engine that was on display in front of Main Street Station for quite a while when the RR was first down. It's probably to the point where WDW RR has now been down for longer than it took DL to re-do the whole Frontierland / Critter Country corner that they re-routed due to Galaxy's Edge construction. That certainly seems like more of a big deal, with the elaborate new curves, bridge structure and River re-configuration.
Don't forget about the actual Atlantis Shuttle display at KSC! (though I admit the Saturn hangar was way cool too! A bit of a trek away from the main area on the internal bus though. Need to allow time for that, not that that's a foreign concept to WDW visitors)
I've only gone to KSC once, but that was pretty cool to be so close to the shuttle. It's displayed very nicely. Never did get to see a shuttle launch in person, unfortunately, even though work did take me down there for other launch related work a few times around a decade or so ago.
