If I'm reading that right, you don't actually save any money in the long run as you still pay the full amount. You just don't pay as much to begin with. Unless I missed something which is always possible.

That's the way it reads to me, too, candles. Only the $$ due up front is less, but you'll have to all in the end anyway. But, some folks may not have the deposit $$ right now.
