i feel like so much digital ink is focused around the tax break but Disney's real issue is with the living wage proposal. And maybe they feel they winds show that it may pass in Anaheim. I can't imagine 250+M in tax breaks are really holding them back when they can earn billions from expanded revenue over several years with more high end beds and more to sights to bring in the masses. I heard a brief snippet of the audio from last nights meeting between the Mayor and City Attorney but it was not a lot so I could not tell whether it was really as cordial as depicted. I also think the Chamber of Commerce Pres' comments are not a heavily weighted as they sound - the total number of jobs when unemployment is pretty low (although its hard to count those that have stopped looking as they say) and the tax revenue on new beds is a bummer - but if the break was still in place they wouldnt see much for several years, right? Its up to the voters now - though I really cant see Disney discontinuing expansion forever in Anaheim. For the next few years all the rooms at new hotels and Disney will be booked up for SWGE. Its only after that period that a possible need for another Disney hotel property would be necessary to take revenue from competing hotels. My 2 cents.
"[Disneyland] has that thing - the imagination, and the feeling of happy excitement - I knew when I was a kid." - Walt Disney
Do we know for certain that the AMC at Garden Walk is not going to happen now?
