Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party
We took a break back at the resort then headed to the Magic Kingdom early. I had made several fast passes for before MNSSHP started so that we could take advantage of our only day at the Magic Kingdom. We rode Mine Train, Under the Sea, Winnie the Poo, Splash Mountain, Big Thunder, with the fast passes and a few we were able to get in short lines to ride. A great time to ride the rides is also between 6-7pm when the park is "closed" but people who only have tickets to MNSSHP cannot enter the ques yet. We took advantage of this and were able to get on a lot in just a few short hours. We bought some his and hers Jack Skellington hats for my daughter and her boyfriend. We ended at Fantasy Land with Peter Pan, our favorite. We went back to the front of the park to be able to experience the Halloween Party from the beginning. Everything looked great. We got our wristbands. I love the different feel the parties give to the park. We took tons of photos. We saw lots of people in costume. Some were in thick furred costumes. It was so hot outside! I'm just not that dedicated, lol! I settled for buying some Halloween sparkly orange and black Minnie ears and called it a day. There were trick or treat stations set up all around the park. We got some candy from the first one but we really weren't there for candy so we didn't bother after that. We rode IASW and the teacups had special Party lights and theming. We climbed to the top of Swiss Family Robinson. This is another favorite. Beautiful views of the sun setting up there. We had the tree house all to ourselves. Not another sole on it. We stopped for some Dole Whip. Of course you have to. We rode Pirates that had extra CMs in the que. Very fun. Line was less than 5 minutes. We went on the Haunted Mansion which was the longest line of the night. The lighting was so cool all blues, purples and green. They had extra CMs in costume having fun with people in the lines. It was a super fun atmosphere. We watched the Boo to You Halloween Parade. This is a standout! I loved it! We headed to Tomorrowland. Unfortunately Space Mountain was broken down for the night but we rode the People Mover and got to see Space Mountain with the lights on as they were repairing it. That was pretty cool. We also got on Buzz, and Astro Orbiter. We checked out the Scream-O-Ween Dance Party. This was adorable, with great music, tons of kids and we saw Sully. Hope they didn't keep that guy out in the heat for too long! But he looked great.
TomorrowLand Terrace Fireworks Dessert Party
We checked in to the Dessert Party late about 9:15pm. You can check in as early as 8:30 but we wanted to continue riding. You get this adorable lanyard just for the party. The dessert party was great. We were hungry, tired and thirsty so it was perfect. They had many drink options; sparking cider, soft drinks, water, coffee and tea. The sparkling cider was served in champagne flutes and was so delicious and refreshing. The savory food options were a cheeseburger spring roll that was delicious, spinach dip, cheese, crackers and other dips. The dessert options was a mini version of all the specialty Halloween Party desserts from around the park which I thought was great. Worms n Dirt; Halloween Chocolate Bark; Pumpkin Cheesecake (Our favorite); Poison Apple Mini Cupcake and too many others to list here. They also had a large selection of fresh fruit. They had a smores station that was so yummy. I requested my marshmallow to be super burnt and they were happy to accommodate me. They had another huge table with cookies, brownies, rice krispie treats. They had plain cupcakes and cookies that you could decorate and eat. They had this gooey toffee trifle kind of thing that was really good. Way more than you could ever eat. It was all you care to eat. You can leave the party and get escorted to the garden plaza to watch the fireworks any time you want. We waited as long as we could because it was a nice atmosphere and it was nice to be sitting down. At about 10:05pm, we were escorted to the fenced off area, at the plaza garden where there is a reserved area for dessert party participants. The area was large and uncrowded. You could sit down on the astroturf and still have an excellent view, which we did. The fireworks started at 10:15 and they are nothing short of amazing! After the fireworks, we rode on a couple more rides in Fantasy Land (no lines at all) and the last thing we did was see the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular. Very cute!!! We were exhausted! We headed out of the park, got on the tram to the Beach Club and ended the day.
