2017 Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend

Join the celebration and prepare to feast on an exciting menu of races during the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend presented by MISFIT™. All-new for this year is Disney Two Course Challenge and the Disney Wine & Dine 10K in addition to the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon, Disney Fall Feast 5K and runDisney Kids Races. Plus, there'll be plenty of surprises, Disney entertainment, and an exclusive Post-Race Party for runners and their guests.

NOTE: Looks like runDisney has again re-themed the 5k from a Holiday to Fall Feast 5k. Also by the verbiage used, expect Lumiere (Two-Course Challenge) and Remy (Wine & Dine 10k) to be replaced as these events are listed as 'all new' in 2017.

    Who is in for 2017?

    Registration opens Tuesday 1/17/2017 @ 9:00 a.m. Pacific / 12:00 p.m. Eastern.

Just a reminder that early AP/DVC registration for the 2017 Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend opens this Thursday January 12th @ 9:00 a.m. Pacific / 12:00 p.m. Eastern.

    General registration opens Tuesday January 17th @ 9:00 a.m. Pacific / 12:00 p.m. Eastern.

Who is in for 2017? Looks like a new theme for the 5k, probably new courses, and an unknown challenge theme as well.

Early AP/DVC opened this morning - smooth and nothing so far on hold or sold out.

One note - if you are trying to log in to the AP page using Chrome, it works fine for Dland APs but it goes to an error with Stitch for WDW APs. Try using IE instead if you are having issues.

11:30 a.m. - All events are open. No holds.

Perfects just received their confirmed W&D Half Marathon registration emails. Didn't need it since it's for the half and can't be used for the challenge but it is still a nice gesture from runDisney.

In case you are kicking yourself for not signing up for the 2017 W&D half or 10k, it appears runDisney may have split out some of the Two-Course Challenge bibs as both the half marathon and 10k are now back open. Unknown how many are available so grab them if you want them!

(I'll update the race capacity list when I've landed - trying to do it in flight over the network is 'challenging'.)

your gonna need neck and back muscles to hold them all - especially with the 2 part Challenge medal.

Does anyone have a link to this year's 10k and half courses, or have an idea of when they'll be posted?

    Thanks,

Expect to see those when the Official Guide is released which is usually 2 - 3 weeks prior to race weekend.

Oh of course (no pun intended)!

You'd think I would just apply the same logic based on what I've seen with DL events. I guess since this is my first WDW race I'm more anxious about it.

    Thanks!

It never hurts to ask (at least in this forum...). It's what we are here for.

You are so going to enjoy running in WDW. The biggest difference for me is the impact of the 3-hour time difference from the West Coast. Oh lord, those early mornings are painful. It's especially fun running around Epcot.

Yeah, we're flying on on a red eye before the race (arriving Thursday). The race starts are gonna be rough!

Also be ready for the Expo to be different!

When you arrive to the Wide World of Sports Complex, you'll walk into the facility and go to the building on the left. That's where you'll get your bib(s). If you're doing The Challenge, you'll also get your shirts there. You can then go to the building caddy corner from the first one you go into and that's where the Expo is. If you're only doing individual races, this is where you'll get your shirt(s). Most of the vendors are the same, but it'll be a big brand new layout for you to enjoy

Cool, thanks for the tips. It's starting to feel like my first Disney race all over again.

Hopefully the weather in Florida will cool down by the time we run. The lows are still in the high 60's/ low 70's.

I guess this year's Disneyland Half provided a little preparation for warm starts!

At this point if it's a runDisney race, it's apparently going to be hot and humid no matter which coast!

Yup the humidity was (for this West Coaster) on the high side but finished all three races this weekend with no major issues. The Perfect Spatula remains intact for the 8th year in a row. We are getting a bit rare - guess there are anywhere from 104 to 160 of us left.

Hope everyone who ran had a great weekend!

    Thank you!

A couple more notes from the race weekend:

The expo was a breeze - bibs and official merchandise in the HP building - shirts and all vendors in Josten. Packet pickup was a dream!

The courses were a blast. 5k thru Animal Kingdom included part of Pandora. 10k included an early darkness run thru Hollywood decorated for Christmas with Christmas songs playing. Half went thru three parks (Animal Kingdom, Hollywood, and Epcot) which was so fun.

On a very sad note, we lost a 28 year old runner who collapsed just before the half finish on Sunday. Prayers to his family.

Glad it went well and smoothly for you and the rest but so sorry to hear about the 28 yr old. Thoughts for that family.

A crowded day at Disneyland beats a busy day of housework!!

According to my princess, its not Star Wars land its "You stole my goats away from me!!......in progress land"
