Knott's Salutes Fire & Police Personnel with Free Park Admission During 'Fire and Law Enforcement Days' Nov. 30 Through Dec. 19, 2003

BUENA PARK, Calif.--Nov. 13, 2003--

Fire and Police Personnel and One Guest Get in Free

Year after year, Knott's Berry Farm Theme Park pays tribute to Southern California fire and police personnel with free park admission during "Fire and Law Enforcement Days." This year, Sunday, Nov. 30 through Friday, Dec. 19, Knott's will extend free park admission for all active fire and police personnel and one guest. Up to six additional tickets can be purchased for $5 each.

"Knott's has always recognized firefighters and police officers as the real American heroes, but the recent devastating fires in October remind us once again how true this is," said Jack Falfas, General Manager and Vice President of West Coast Operations. "These are the men and women who put their lives on the line to protect and serve our communities every time they go to work."

Guests can enjoy Knott's blockbuster attractions, including the Xcelerator coaster, or GhostRider, Supreme Scream, the Christmas Crafts Festival and other Merry Farm celebrations. Children will be in awe of the redecorated Timber Mountain Log Ride. Renamed Elf Mountain Christmas, guests can witness dozens of elves amidst the twinkling lights as they prepare for Santa's big day. The world's most famous beagle once again stars in his ice spectacular, "It's Christmas, Snoopy." Knott's Merry Farm opens on Thanksgiving Day and continues through Christmas Eve.

To participate, active fire and police personnel must present valid, photo fire or law enforcement ID at the Fire and Police V.I.P. gate Nov. 30 through Dec. 19, 2003. Fire or police personnel absolutely must be present. Fire and law enforcement badges and identification cards are acceptable only if accompanied by photo ID. As all IDs must reference specific fire or law enforcement duty, government-only IDs will not be accepted.

Under promotional rules, Knott's will admit sworn officers from all city and county fire and law enforcement organizations, plus the following: California Highway Patrol (CHP); County Sheriffs' offices; District Attorney offices; U.S. Forest Service, California Department of Forestry and other wildland fire organizations; correctional facilities (prisons); U.S. Marshals; ATF (Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms); the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI); International Border Patrol; Immigration Naturalization Service (INS); California Conservation Corps; and reserve or volunteer fire and law enforcement members with valid ID.

Please note that only individuals with proper photo ID specifically referencing fire or law enforcement duty will be accepted.

The following organizations are not covered by the promotion: civilian employees of city and county fire and law enforcement organizations; retired fire and law enforcement employees; U.S. Armed Forces, including all U.S. veterans; private law firms; reserve or volunteer fire and law enforcement members without valid ID; American Red Cross; private security firms; and all employees with government-only IDs or without specific fire or law enforcement IDs.
