I wonder what this 1-mile run is about... There is information on runDisney's site about the eligibility for the 1-mile run, but no info about when it is/where it's being held. Is this new to the ToT 10-miler weekend?
- Spring MouseAdventures: Decades advanced: our goal? to finish. mission accomplished!
- december 09 reindeer games: 26th place, & drenched all the way through!
- spring 09 mouse adventure (train, trams, and monorails): advanced division, with a newbie! the dominoes and the jigsaw puzzle nearly killed us!

Maybe they have you do 1 mile while blindfolded...
Please don't ask me how I feel, I feel fine.
Oh I cry a bit, I don't sleep too good, but I'm fine
Pancake, pancake, pancake, pancake, pancake, pancake, pancake, pancake, pancake...

This is actually considered a kids event but it's for the older ones not yet ready for a 5k but who can do more than the shorter runDisney Kids race distances.
Although the idea of running with a blindfold would be interesting to watch. Just watch for the speed bumps!

Just a reminder that early AP registration for the 2014 Tower of Terror 10-Miler weekend is now open. Open registration starts 9:00 a.m. PST/ 12:00 p.m. EST Tuesday February 11th.
Given the frenzy of runDisney events, it will be interesting to watch how fast this one sells out. It actually took longer in 2013 to sell out by almost a month than the inaugural 2012 race took so we'll see...
Let me know if you will be running / walking and I'll start a list.
I'm in for the 10-Miler and the 5k.

Just fyi... similar to Disneyland Half Marathon weekend registration, there is no Disney Visa per-registration for ToT. There will be $15 off when general registration opens.

This is a great race. I had a blast last year even though I did not perform up to my standards. I would def. do it again!

Looks like ToT is no longer the first weekend of the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival. According to the Disney Blog, the festival has added an extra week and now starts a week earlier on September 19th running through November 10th (Wine & Dine Half Marathon weekend).

It's sold out now. My sister tried to get in today and it's been busy all day. She just tried again, and it says it's full . But she just told me that she can check back after May 1st when people can defer to next year, so there's hope

She could also try GET travel. They usually have it bundled with a 1 day, 1 park ticket. The ticket can be upgraded.

And as you have heard, it's now posted on the runDisney site. In just over a month (as compared to over three in 2013), the 2014 Tower of Terror 10-Miler is officially SOLD OUT!

The deal with GETtravel is a room package...not sure if that's going to work. And they only had 43 spots when she called earlier.

Thank you so much! She's in for the run too. She did the hotel deal, and we'll turn it into another girls run weekend. My hubby was happy to have an "out" lol

Looks like the 2014 ToT 10-Miler medal is pretty much the same as the previous years but take a look at the 5k medal. Wow...

Any advice on what to take for after the race? I just re read Stephanie's blog post, but since this is a night run, I'm wondering if there's anything different we should pack in our checked bag? We're hoping to finish in under 2 hours and then hit HS for whatever time we have left before it closes at 3am, or we drop dead lol.

Since you plan to hang out afterward, I highly recommend a full change of clothes, including underwear. You'll feel much more comfortable at the party if you're not in soaking wet running gear. Weather is likely to be humid and warm based on past years. Also, a towel (microfiber takes up little room and dries quickly) and some cleansing cloths for a faux-shower to feel less sweaty.
