Disney announces pricing for the D23 Expo 2011, including $1000 "Sorcerer Package"

Rating: 4 votes, 5.00 average.
Tickets for the 2011 D23 Expo go on sale tomorrow morning, and Disney is hoping to find 50 D23 members willing to spend $1000 each for an exclusive "Sorcerer Package" that includes reserved seating to all presentations and panels, access to a lounge staffed by a concierge, private tours of some exhibits, "special shopping opportunities," limited edition merchandise ... and an appointment with a massage therapist. If that's too rich for your blood, you can purchase the "Premiere Package," which, at just $500 per person, offers fewer benefits, but is limited to just 250 people.

Mere mortals can purchase one-day tickets that range from $30 - $47 for adults, or 3-day passes for $85 - $136. Disney is offering the deepest discounts to D23 members, and people who purchase their tickets before December 31, 2010. The 2011 Expo will be held August 19-21 at the Anaheim Convention Center.

Disney has announced very few details of the 2011 event, saying "We're still hard at work finalizing plans for the D23 Expo 2011," so members who purchase tickets a full year in advance are doing so without really having any idea of what the second-ever Expo will really offer.

What's your take? Are you going to buy tickets now to take advantage of the discount, or wait until Disney has released a preliminary schedule of events?

Eh, no one is being forced to purchase those packages. Those two packages are very limited and are most likely sold out now anyway.

According to D23's FAQ page; the prices for their events "are determined by event production costs and guest offerings."
