  1. Atlanta Gift Show: Day 4

Being a Disney freak sometimes makes it hard to be objective about new product.

In Disney's adaptation of the J.M. Barrie books, Tinker Bell is a Pixie, not a Princess or a Fairy. Nothing in the Peter Pan film suggests that she has a royal lineage or a gaggle of Fairy friends (or a magic wand for that matter...).

To date, Disney has been pretty consistent in calling her a Pixie, and most Disney merchandise that refers to her in any manner does so as a Pixie. According ...
  2. Growing up in the '80s- compared to today

Another gem in a sea of boring forwarded emails...

When I was a kid, adults used to bore me to tears with their tedious diatribes about how hard things were when they were growing up; what with walking twenty-five miles to school every morning ... uphill BOTH ways

    yadda, yadda, yadda

And I remember promising myself that when I grew up, there was no way in hell I was going to lay a bunch of crap like that on kids about how hard I had it and how ...

Details are below. Thanks to Sue Pisaturo of MousePlanet sponsor Small World Vacations for the info.

  5. Farewell, VMK

A few hours ago I read the news that Disney has decided to close the Virtual Magic Kingdom game, a FREE! (and that word will become important later) online multiplayer game created around the time of Disneyland's 50th Anniversary and "designed for 8-14 year olds."

Thinking this must be a late April Fool's joke, I quickly checked the VMK home page and yes, there it was, the official word right from Yavn's mouth. (Yavn is the screen name for one of the VMK producers, a nice guy I've ...
