  1. Disneyland announces new Summer promotion: Stay 3, Get 2 Free

    We've just received word of Disneyland's new Summer promotion, which offers 5 nights at a Disneyland Resort or Good Neighbor Hotel and 5 days of theme park admission for the price of three. Kimberly Fidler at MousePlanet Sponsor posted details of the offer in her Blog this afternoon (link), and calls it "the best summer offer ever at the Disneyland Resort!"

    The promotion is valid for travel between April 1st - September 26th, 2009, though the discounts do not apply ...

  2. Walt Disney World free dining packages now available to general public

    Free dining is now available to the general public at the same terms as the pre-sale to Disney Visa cardholders: travel August 16 - October 3, book by June 21, basic dining plan by default, upgradeable to other dining packages.

    Availability opens this morning. Rate code for basic dining is RYH. We don't have the codes for the upgraded packages, but we'll post them as soon as we have them.

  3. First look at Big Thunder Ranch Celebration Roundup & Barbecue

    Disneyland's new Celebration Roundup & Barbecue opened at Disneyland today, and I was among a group of media invited to see Disney's replacement for the much-loved Big Thunder BBQ restaurant that closed in 2001.   5. The Return of Flash Mountain

    As recounted in "More Mouse Tales: A Closer Peek Backstage at Disneyland," back in the 1990s, female riders on Splash Mountain would occasionally lift their blouses as they plummeted over the 52.5-foot drop, just as the ride's automatic camera snapped their souvenir photo. To limit such "exposure" on the preview screens at the end of the ride, Disney hired "photo editors" to screen out any objectionable photos before they were projected for all to see.
