  1. On Being a Blogging Virgin

Day 2 of my Disneyland virgin blog. I am still trying to figure out the options listed in the text key. I don't really understand what a "tag" is or how to use them. I will be experimenting with the different choices just to see what they do. I am still trying to figure out how to add the trip counter as I haven't recieved a reply to my forum question about it yet. I hate being a Noob in such a public forum. Oh well, we were all noobs at one time.
I uploaded a picture of myself
  2. 47 Days To Go and Counting!!

Well, this is my first attempt at blogging! There are 47 more days to go before my Birthday Trip to Disneyland. I usuallly go to the Happiest Place on Earth about every other year. I tell all my friends and co-workers I need my Happiness Fix!
This time, however, it is my condolance trip. You see, I went last year, 2008, for a week at the Disneyland Hotel with my 8 yr old grandaughter as my travel buddy. Unfortunately, I picked the one week (in June) where Los Angeles had a 100+ heatwave!
  3. Preview: The Disney Family Museum

I was lucky and received a membership as a birthday present from my parents, who love me if not my Disney fascination. Members got free preview tickets, and I went with my Mom and daughter (age 6.5) that weekend past as early in the day as I could get tickets (two other groups -- D23 and the Carolwood Club -- were previewing that day as well). The website showed the preview tix had a retail value of $500 each: zoiks! Luckily, they were free for members.

We got there 30 minutes early. ...
  4. Video: "Give a Day, Get a Disney Day" announcement with Teri Hatcher and the Muppets

Disney chief Bob Iger and Desperate Housewives stars Teri Hatcher and James Denton join Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy and dozens of volunteers at a Habitat for Humanity construction site in Lynwood, California to formally announce the "Give a Day, Get a Disney Day" promotion on September 29, 2009.

  5. First look: Disney's 2010 marketing promotion - Give a day, get a Disney day

As we reported last week in the Disneyland Resort Update (link):
Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Chairman Jay Rasulo is expected to announce the next marketing campaign for the Disney Parks on September 29th. 2010 is Disneyland's 55th anniversary, as well as the lead-in year to what is expected to be a major celebration of the 40th anniversary of Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom park, so it seems the company is on the hook for another major promotion.

    Just don't expect a repeat
