  1. Magic Kingdom Rolls Out Free WiFi, Other Parks Coming Soon

    Free guest WiFi was rolled out with no formal announcement at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom park yesterday. Guests who connected to the "Disney-Guest" network and accepted Disney's terms of service were able to freely utilize the Internet using the service. While Disney has not responded to an inquiry regarding the details of the service, MousePlanet was provided with a statement that "WiFi is on scheduled [sic] to be rolled out for all of our theme parks and DTD by early 2013."   2. This year's Walt Disney World ticket price hikes come earlier than usual

    Perhaps in an attempt to grab a little extra income at the expense of the large summer crowds, Walt Disney World (and Disneyland) announced a ticket price hike Friday, June 10, effective on Sunday, June 12. For years, price hikes for Walt Disney World were announced in January; in 2006, with a second price hike in that calendar year, price hikes moved to the first Sunday in August.   3. Walt Disney World talks New Fantasyland, debuts new castle projection show

    At a press event Tuesday night, Walt Disney World announced more details about the New Fantasyland expansion, which will double the size of the existing land. The announcement had a mix of previously-announced features and new additions.

  4. Free dining, room discounts and gift cards, oh my!

    Walt Disney World today announced a trifecta of new discounts, some of which run through the end of September 2011.

    Free dining

    Free dining is back, with the same split-level implementation as has been the case recently. Those staying at value resorts will get the Quick Service Dining Plan for free, while those in moderate, deluxe and deluxe villa accommodations will get the standard Disney Dining Plan for free.

  5. Via Napoli opens at Epcot

    Via Napoli opened at Epcot on Thursday, and Vance Cope covered the grand opening festivities for MousePlanet.
