No details from me but I am interested in if the new Monorail Red is making regular runs now. I have not heard anything about the whole Monorail snafu in a while.

There are rumors of being able to see Mark VII Monorail Red on the tracks during the day this week, to allow for final inspections and the state DOSH agency having its final checks, before approving "Red" for regular use.

They have been running overnight testing and a lot of stops to verify that "Red" works as designed for about a month. They don't want to run it during regular park hours, as the "negative" issues of park guests not being allowed to board it would create too many issues. With the "weekday" crowd size getting smaller after the majority of Spring Break, they think they can get away with it, and they need to accommodate DOSH to get the ride online.

Oooh I hope Monorail Red is up and running by our mid-May trip. DS(4 3/4) is very into trains and loves the Monorail. Riding in a brand new car would be an extra treat for him. Oh, who am I kidding, for me too!

The monorails trains have been built from the ground up. They have a sleeker more retro/modern look (more Flash Gordon), and the seat configuration have been changed from short rows to long aisles facing the winows.

Any chance the new ones will be running next week?

You might SEE one, but the LA Times reported yesterday that guests should be able to ride Mark VII Red mid-May.

No AC? :(

We always do a week-long trip to DLand in the summer, would be nice...

Rumor mill time...

Red is supposed to start running THIS WEEK. Mon to Wed is going to be like final Test and Adjust with some kinda weird CM preview happenings. Thurs would be the first public day. Again, this is pure rumor that I hear from friends. Take it with just a little salt.

What's "Disney"?

The question is whether or not the current Year of a Million Dreams monorail train will be able to last until the new ones are here. lol. It seems that it is on its last legs.

Does anyone know if "Blue" has the same problem as "Red" did when it arrived or was it fixed prior to it's arrival?
