I think we had a high number for P-runs yesturday around 2 pm til 225 we had 7 P-runs. The comm was very busy most of the calls were for DCA no shade it was code 90 @ 10am until 1130pm What do you CMs have to say about this.

Are you saying all seven went to Code 2?

Did any upgrade to Code 3?

7 P-runs in a given day is a lot, let alone within one sixty minute period. DCA needs some shade.

There are some costumes with a Code-100 twist also. Did it go Code-100?

uh? I'm not a CM but just curious. What's this all about

What is a P-Run? Paramedic?

Someone I know is supposedly designing and building shade structures at DCA. Is there any evidence of such structures?

When I came on around 2 PM it was Code 100.

Control was extremely busy with the all-calls, I remember around 2:30 they did an all-call to announce 5 P-runs, most in DCA, though several were downgraded to Code 1.

Speaking as a commomer, the code talk is a bit confusing... Is there any way we can get an interpreter?

Code 100 is I believe when the temp. in the park gets over 100°. Am I correct?

yes

It affects costume rules as well as allowing outdoor cm's to drink water onstage. It affects break schedules for characters as well.

IT WAS A HOT ONE, IT WAS CODE 100 AT 12:00, AT 1PM I WAS TOLD BY MANAGEMENT THAT IT WAS 110, SO MOST CM'S WERE ALLOWED TO TAKE OFF EXTRA CLOTHING THAT THEY WORE. DRINKING WATER ON STAGE WAS A PLUS FOR US WHO WERE OUTSIDE, WE ALSO GOT EXTRA BREAKS. EVEN THOUGH I WORK IN A ATTRACTION THAT HAS A.C. DID NOT SEE IT, SOME HOW I WAS STUCK OUTSIDE ALL DAY, THAT SUCKED!!!!! WE WERE GIVEN DRINKS BY THE MANAGEMENT AND I THINK THE SAME FOR MOST OF THE TALENT. I HATE THE HEAT, IT WAS A FUN TIME, RIGHT, LOL

According to a friend, her car's little thermometer readout said it was 104 yesterday.

Sorry to everybody but can you tell me(and others) what a P-Run is? A Code 3? Code 1? and anything else confusing in this thread. I know a few of the radio codes but I dont know these.

P-run is a paramedic run.

Code 1 is usually called in by the nurse on scene. It means that transportation to a hospital via ambulance is not needed, and that the Guest or CM can simply be taken to Central First Aid and given treatment there, this is what a lot of the P-runs on Sunday were downgraded to.

Code 2 is what every P-run starts as, nurse gets on scene, paramedics arrive, but the facilities at CFA are not enough, and the Guest or CM should be transported to the hospital for observation and treatment, although the injury is not immediately life threatening.

Code 3 is the "call 911, we need to get this person to a hospital NOW!!" code.

Also, only during a Code 3 (life-threating) emergency is the only time you will see paramedics or other emergency personell on-stage. Anything declared Code 2 is usually routed to CFA (Central First Aid) or the nearest off-stage area for paramedics.

On a side note, it was so hot Sunday that one of the churro ovens overheated and would not work properly...ironic huh? :D

Churro oven overheating happened today too, but the vendor just turned off the machine and let it cool down for 15 mins, then started it back up again. I don't recall the location though.

I remember a few times last year when it was Code 100 they were handing out water and Powerade to CMs backstage. I don't remember them doing that on Sunday, though.

It's days like this past Sunday that make me glad I wear the only costume in the DL Stores department other than stock that has shorts as an option.

So Code 2 is like "I dont know what the real problem is until I get there"? From Code 2 it can be downgraded or upgraded. Correct?

A nurse or paramedic makes this assessment because, let's face it, not every DLR CM that calls for an emergency has medical training, and the caller may may have made the situation sound more serious or less serious than it really is. Every time I've called for paramedics at DL they've asked if the victim was unconscious or having difficulty breathing, and even when the answer to both was no, it still went out as Code 2 and then downgraded to Code 1 after the nurse arrived on scene.
