I noticed the picture of a cat hanging out at Disneyland with the Mouseplanet update this week. Has anyone had any experience in seeing one at the park? I've never seen one....

I've seen the sweet little calico at Whitewater Snacks, she's quite the little begger.

One of our favorite sightings at Disneyland...

We were on the Mark Twain, passing by a moose that stands on the banks of the river. There was a cat curled up in the moose's antlers, taking a nap in the afternoon sun. We scrambled for cameras but were too slow!

I've seen them at DCA, near Taste Pilots Grill. They look pretty well fed and healthy. I've heard that the cast members feed them cat food to suppliment whatever they get by scrounging. They also help with the (smaller ;)) rodents.

We saw the cat in the posted photo at White Water Snacks, along the wood fencing of the windows, near the same spot as the photo. We found that the cat was very healthy, a sheen to her fur and that she was not begging at all. We were actually surprised by her behavior as she made no attempt to engage us, no meowing or pacing behavior. She just sat there on the ledge basking in the sun and quietly contented.

On Thursday we saw a long-haired tortoiseshell cat on the top deck at Hungry Bear restaurant.

We frequently see cats along the train route, like before and after it goes through IASW.

One CM told us that they do round the cats up and give them their shots as well so the cats are well taken care of there...and they keep the rat population down.

I have seen a cat outside of Taste Pilot's Grill and on my last visit, I saw a mouse (not Mickey or Minnie!) when I was on IASW.

About a year ago we saw a pretty big calico while waiting in line at Splash....didn't seem to care that there was anyone around, just going about her business...

Although, not that it was a cat but coming off Indy we saw a HUGE possum scurry across the walk way right before we got to the Jeep (or maybe tent, I can't remember) with the supplies in it no more than 3 feet in front of us. We were definitely more afraid of him than he was of us!

We saw the same cat on our trip last week. She didn't do any obvious begging...just sat there waiting to be petted and fed. She is a very sweet cat. One of the employees there told us that she had a litter of kittens a couple of months ago and he took one of them home. Now THAT would be quite the DL souvenir! :D

I think we saw the kittens. We were there a few months ago and there was a litter of kittens that we saw - across from Grizzly River Rapids and next to Redwood Creek, by the GCH near Whitewater. A big group of people was looking at the kitties from up above, on the walkway, down in that grassy area there.

That's good to know. I guess we can assume that they are spaying and neutering them also.

The kittens were gently removed by CGH staff on Thanksgiving day while we were at WWS, though they were larger than a normal kitten and we were told they were going to be adopted into staff homes.

We ate at the Trattoria in DCA after the last Mouse Adventure. We stayed so late that we had to be escorted to the main gate by an employee. On the way out we saw a mother cat crossing the path in front of the restaurant with her two small babies.

In our past few trips we have seen a cat roaming around up on Grizzly Mountain.

A mouse running into the shrubs at Alice In WL

And last time a Dog up by the fountain near the Haunted Mansion.

Yes, they spay and neuter. They give them shots and tag them so they know who is who. And I love watching the ones back by Hungry Bear.

So they're actually furry little CMs.

Given the number of litters of kittens people report I'd say they are missing a few on the spay/neuter.

We were in the park for a week from Dec 3 through Dec 7th. We saw the fluffy kitty at the Hungry Bear, a little black and white one across from Taste Pilots in CA and a funny little orangey one on the banks while we were riding in the wheel house of the Mark Twain. The CM there told us the kitties help keep not only the rodent population down but the duck population as well. We love to see the kitties and also watch the visitors amazement when they spot them. We tell them they are audioanimatronic! *giggle*

Anyone know if the gold tom cat is still over in Fantasyland by Casey Junior?

I work 3rd shift custodial and Disneyland brings in the cats to minimize the rodent population. However, we also feed them and rake care of them of course. They all have names too.

The kitchens at Disneyland always have trouble keeping off the rats, so that's why you see so may cats. It helps besides all of the mouse traps they have under the fryers and such. Especially at Pizza Port. Erk.
