So yesterday, took a day off work, and went out to play, started my day at the new Harrah's casino in San Diego (Opens tomorrow at 2 PM), ended up at the DLR just before 6 PM, checked out DL and DCA, decided to see and hear the Turtles from the Avalon Cove Bar, and was surprised to find out they close the bar at 8 PM, two hours before the park closes, and during the concert .(By the way, the Turtles sounded good, but they mainly played songs from other groups. Also, the amphitheater seating are was preety full, but not many people were standing behind the seating...).

Now, this weekend the Village People are coming to DCA, and it doesn't make sence that they are going to close the bar at 8 PM on Friday and Saturday night. (In fact I know for a fact that the "front line" employees complained to management about it and got into a bit of a "fight", but as the CM said, what the heck, we're union.:p )

But why close the bar shortly BEFORE the concert ends , I can understand closing the kitchen, but the few additional CM labor hours that would be needed to sell drinks that have a high "profit" level seems to make this an easy decision..... Oh well, I guess you just chalk it up to another crazy Disney Management decision.....

I don't understand. Will they just kick you out of the bar while you are sitting there enjoying the concert? I say order large food and drinks, and eat really slowly. What are they going to do?

Of course, that doesn't change the fact that the decision to close is just silly.

Well, they shut the door at 8 PM, and no "new" folks are allowed in, but the staff is cool about serving the current guests, I stayed until the concert ended around 8:30 PM last night, but I am a bit of a regular there.

In fact, I was a bad boy last night, closed three DLR bars, Avalon Cove, ESPN Zone at midnight, then the Lost Bar, in fact was escorted (actually all of us) by DL Security off Hotel Property (nothing bad, just making the point it was time to go home).

Shannon, Harrah's is in the Rincon Indian Reservation in North San Diego County... I am going to be lazy, and refer you to a thread at another board, where I have posted a few lengthy posts, you should get your answers there, and that way I don't steer this topic too far off course...
