did the goat at Thunder Mountain finally blow him self up? I went on the ride last night and the goat was gone and I was going to try the goat trick.

Funny that you should say that! Yesterday my family also went on it and I was telling them about the "goat trick." When it came up on the curve, the goat was gone! :( We also noticed the Lego guy in DTD was gone, so - maybe some people are getting refurbed?

Weird!

You were there Saturday night? I was there Friday night (11-09-07), and I was riding expressly for the purpose of finally getting around to doing the Goat Trick. But in the dark, I didn't find the goat. I thought that the lack of illumination just meant that I missed the old goat.

Don't tell me they are refurbishing his dynamite stick he chews on! :)

He is probably just getting a good refurb.. New fur and all, I would bet. He will probably be back in a week or 2.

Good news: Goat trick still works without the goat. :)

Still works? Maybe, but then it would have to be named; "Naked Rock Trick".

I spent the whole time on the ride explaining the 'Goat trick' to my daughter-in-law who has never been to DL before...all I heard the whole ride through was from her in the front car asking where is the goat? I kept saying 'it's coming up, it's coming up'...we came to the turn and none of the rest of us BTMtRR veterans even knew we went around it as the goat was gone!

Hmmmm.....

Maybe the goat went to the same place the crab of POTC went -- a little vacation, maybe???
R&R???
Better brand of dynamite???

I've merged your question to a recent thread on the same topic; see above for responses.

Been missing for almost a month now. You didn't check here before you left?

The goat is sick. It was something he ate.

That's what I've been telling Guests that ask me about it. Some Guests get it, some Guests don't.

He'll be back soon.

It's not the end of the world... it's nice that the goat is getting a little TLC.

It really doesn't make a LOT of difference to me, but I would have liked to see him. That's all. I have yet to do the Goat Trick. I always get knocked around on that ride.

We should be there now. BTMR is one of my daughter's favorite rides, except for whatever reason she is terrified of the goat. I have to cover her eyes as we approach and pass it.
