We were at DL last night when we noticed something new near Rancho del Zocalo in Frontierland--they're calling it "Zocalo Park" (if I'm remembering correctly), and it's a Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) "exhibit" complete with a large skeleton band, a towering skeleton senorita, and lots of fruit baskets and flowers.

It's very festive in the evening (lots of streamers and colorful lights)! Anyone else see this? I'm guessing it may be something new for Halloween-time...

You know, it was a spur of the moment trip for us, so I didn't have my camera. Sorry! Maybe someone else can help?

Oh, I see. :)

Yeah, if someone else has 'em, I'd love to see! Sounds very pretty.

I saw that yesterday, too! I wandered over there a bit, but the crowds were massive (as we were getting close to Fantasmic! time. At the same time- it was INSANELY busy yesterday, so it probably wasn't just a Fantasmic! thing).

Yes, el Dia de los Muertos is a very important feast in Latin countries. It's on November 2- All Souls' Day for us English speakers... I'm looking forward to seeing it when I'm there.

They're not new, just relocated. They usually perfom in the open seating area by the Mexican food place on the wharf in DCA. They are too much fun, my daughter loves dancing with them.

alright - I am going to be extremely detailed here... new to disneyland... (just a side bar bet peeve of mine that all of the good live entertainment has been taken away from Disneyland and scrubbed shells of their former selves have reappeared). so - not new to the resort but I am glad they get to perform for more people at Zocolo Park.

The Mariachi Divas actually started performing at Disneyland a few years ago.
Long before they were moved to DCA to randomly perform in the Pacific Wharf area.

They haven't been 'new' at the Disneyland Resort for at least a few years.

Their present performance hours (near Zocalo Park, in Frontierland) are...
Saturdays and Sundays: 4, 5, 6 and 7 pm
&
Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays: 11:30 a.m., 12:30, 1:30, 3, 4 and 5pm

Saw them a few times last year...Hopefully the 'Divas' have learned to have expressions other than 'surly and bored to tears'. The music is fine but even the most third rate Mariachi Band on a forgotten side street in Tijuana know how to play to the crowd 'as if' they are having fun.
