I am considering purchasing an AP for my upcoming trip starting 12/6/07, but only if I can use the pass for a trip in December 2008, preferably ending on 12/6/08.

So, if I enter the park with a new AP on December 6th, 2007, what is the last day I will be able to enter the park with that pass? I suppose it could be 12/4/08 (365 days of admission), 12/5/08 (one 'free' day for the leap year or one calendar year assuming the start time is retroactive to park opening), or 12/6/08 (one calendar year assuming the start time is not retroactive).

Since they advertise it as "an entire year" I would like to assume the 12/6/08 date since I can purchase the AP at noon on 12/6/07 meaning any admission before noon on 12/6/08 would be less than a year but I want to be sure before I go ahead with the purchase.

If you buy your AP or activate your pre-purchased AP on 12/6/07, your photo card AP will be printed with an expiration date of 12/6/08.

Also, I don't think it makes any difference if you purchase your AP before noon or after noon. It only matters what day you purchase it, not what time of day, to determine its expiration date.

Thanks for the quick response, but I still need further clarification...at what time on 12/6/08 would it expire? If it expired at midnight on 12/6/08 I wouldn't be able to use it for admission that day but if it expired at activation time or end of operating day I would be able to use it.

My WDW AP uses the term 'valid through' instead of 'expires' which is much less ambiguous. I know the ticketing systems are different so does DL use the same term?

It expires after closing on 12/6/08. If you enter the park on 12/6/08 and the park closes at 1am on 12/7/08, you could still reenter after midnight.

Question....if you upgrade from park hoppers, is your exp a year from the date you upgrade or the date you first used your hoppers?

The day you first use the hoppers. They will back date the exp date of the pass.
