Have a question about child swap passes...do they have to be used the same day, or can we save them for another day?

They're coded to prevent you from using them a different day.

When you do a child swap, does it have to be pound for pound or can you just swap for any child that is avaiable?

We used this for the first time on Soarin last week, and one thing we did not realize (duh - we didn't read the swap ticket) is that only 2 people can ride the second time. We had a group of 4 adults and a 2 year old who was too short so we had planned on 3 riding each time, but alas they kicked one of us out.

what is the child swamp?

It's a dirty marsh near BTMR where fed-up parents can dump their unruly kids and receive a voucher for a trade-up.

child swap is when there's someone too small for a ride...with us there's me, dh, ds5 (who is 48 inches), and ds3 (who is 37.5 inches).
We go on Soarin (40" requirement) - we all go the the beginning of the line, get the child swap pass - me and ds5 go, while dh and ds3 wait or go walk around while we go on the ride. After they get done, dh and ds5 can go, while this time I wait with ds3 - they get to go in the single rider line with the child swap pass - basically bypassing the wait, since they've already technically waited.

My children are well-behaved, but I wouldn't mind swapping them sometimes for similar children who eat less!

thanks for your help explaining. I read it on the disneyland.go but I never really understood it. Thanks for helping me out.

I have five boys and I don't have any desire to swamp mine out they are a lot better mannered then a lot of kids out there.

LOL! Best laugh I've had all day!

I think I'm going to refer to it as "child swamp" from now on, just cause it's so funny. :p

I have a fairly well-behaved dog that I'd like to trade for a teenager that likes yard work.
