I haven't been to DLR since right before the tomorrowland make over (roughly 10 years), and I've never been to DCA. All my friends think DLR is too "kidsy" and prefer going to Magic Mountain. And I'm too scared to go by myself. (No kids either.)

When I was growing up, we went about every year. There were probably a couple of two year or so gaps in there, but nothing too long. Once I got an AP in college, the longest gap was about from when my pass was blocked out in June until it was good again around August or September. Now that I'm a CM, I'm lucky to get 2 days in between trips!

As for going by yourself, it's really super-fun! I was a little nervous as first too, but really enjoy myself now. I don't have to go on any anybody else's agenda and can do whatever the heck I want to on my own schedule. And I tend to make new friends in line :) Single Rider lines at DCA (and Splash at DL) are the best!

At least 10 yrs. - between 1976 (12 yrs. old) & 1986 or '87 (22 or 23), enticing my DH for a one-day stop during a spring break road trip.

It took about 20 yrs. and a few more visits (including DLP) to brainwash the guy to realize that we need to go every year. (Well, okay, I think I'm almost there...) Just keep these posts flowing with stories of regular visits so I can justify in my mind that annual DL vacations are normal and okay!

Longest time between trips anymore seems to be about 2 years. Last time I was there was in June of 2005, and man am I going through some withdraws. I grew up in CA so we went once a year. Then I got an AP in July of 95, was hired in Feb of 96,then moved to WA in Sept of 97. In the beginning DH and I would still try and go down 2 a yr, then it was once a year and now it seems to be every other year as we want to visit other places besides Disney (other favorite thing is National Parks).

i went several times in the eighties but they were like every other year and then every year since 1992 except this gap which is my longest ever. i went on new year for the big 2000, so 12/31/99 until July 21, 2002 for our first anniversary, and i have gone at least once a year since then if not two and already have this years and next years trips planned, so i guess i just need to plan my 2009 trip :)

Well if you consider from birth until the first time I went, it would be 18 years. After that it was 8 years. This trip is the 8 years and I'm sooo excited!!!!

25 years? I can't count, but I left off with a Jan 1978 visit...

...and didn't return till December of 2004.

If ever there was a time for a camera....here's my first sight, what I saw first, after a 25 year absence:

I went with Boys' Club in 1969 (pre-Space Mountain!) and didn't have the happiness to return until August of last year when I went with my brother, his wife and two sons, 9 and 12. Since then, I returned solo in Jan., will be there with my 13yo nephew late Aug., and then again in Jan. with my other nephew.:D

When I was a kid we went once a year. As I got older, I went once when I was 16 and didn't go back until I hit 19. Then it was another 10 years before I got the chance to go again!

Now (since 2001) the longest we have gone is about 4 months without going back.

34 Years! WOW! No wonder I'm such a Disney Freak now. I first went when I was 5 (1970), then I didn't return again until my son's 4th birthday (2004). Gee whiz. That makes me sound SOOOO old - But young at heart! ;)

Since 2004 we go twice a year...Can't get enough!

I haven't been to DLR since right before the tomorrowland make over (roughly 10 years), and I've never been to DCA....nd I'm too scared to go by myself. (No kids either.)

I'm not from the West Coast so my first time was when I was 19. I was always a huge Disney fan but had never been to CA until I got to visit a friend in Southern CA. I had such a great time! I took about 10 rolls of photos - back in the pre-digital age! And I kept everything including the wrapper from a straw because it had a DL logo on it! I didn't go again for about 8 years. Now we go about every 2-3 years.

I even went by myself one time, when I was in CA for another function. I had a great time alone! But I'm the kind of person who can go to the movies or to dinner alone too. I think if your choice is to go alone or go with friends who don't really appreciate DL, try going alone. I went to WDW for a long weekend with someone who wasn't really a Disney fan but just wanted to see WDW. It was horrible! She was so critical of everything. She couldn't understand why any adult would want to go there and she thought I was crazy for going every year. I would've had more fun alone!

The longest time for me was the 10 years from 1995 to 2005. It seemed like it was forever. But that was then and this is now! :D

Twelve years for me.

Didn't go between my Grad Nite in 1988 and June of 2000. BUT it was truly a special week, the very next day after I broke my streak, I met the woman who would become my wife. SO Disneyland STILL has magic for me.

We're taking our 9 month old daughter tomorrow for her SECOND trip. We're not APs, but her Brother was a CM in 2005 and gave us their guest passes!

8 years, 1987-1995. Until I saw this thread and really thought about it, I didnt realize how many years the gap had been.

We went at least once a year (if not twice) when I was a kid. Even in High School, if I had a new boyfriend I would drag him up to Disneyland to see if he had fun.

I went for the opening of Star Tours stayed for the marathon 60 hour grand opening ( I was working at a radio station and we had winners that needed us there :) ) didn't go back for 8 years, when I had free tickets from a friend that worked at Hollywood records. Disneyland was way out of my budget.

The longest time away from the park for me was 25 years. Now I have been to the parks for three years in a row and I will be there at Christmas time this year.

Next year we will make our first "real" trip to WDW. The last time I was there was 10 years ago and my kids were too little to really remember it and I don't remember much of it.

I didn't make my first visit until I was about 26. My DD was almost 8. We didn't go back until she was about 13. Now we go about once a year.

It was close to 10 years without DL. Then we had some family friends who went every year on the day before Thanksgiving and they started inviting us along. Then they stopped going because their kids had grown up and moved on.

Then I took my husband for his birthday in Dec 2005 and got annual passes. We went about 7 times that year. Now he says he won't go until the kids are tall enough to go on all the rides. Only problem is...we aren't planning on starting a family for another 3-4 years. I guess I have awhile until my next visit and it is driving me crazy!!!
