View Full Version : Disney's Magical Express Late hours? [Luggage question]

On our next trip, we are flying in late and with the DME bus trip we will probably get to our resort by 11PM.

What should we expect regarding our bags? Will they be delivered that night or the next morning?

Thanks all!

If you request they be delivered that night you should get them without issue. I believe flights in before 11pm still get the bags to the resort that night. Most often the resort would hold those late bags until morning that is why you would need to give the request.

Alternatively, you could pack a small carry-on bag that you take with you on the plane that would contain any essentials that you might need overnight. This way if your bags don't make it that night, you would have items you need.

We are taking the red-eye from San Francisco and should be arriving around 6:30 in the morning. How early can you check in or get your bags? Should we just head to a park with EE and go to the hotel in the afternoon to check in?

WendyBird, you can check in right away, but your room likely won't be ready unless it was empty the night before. If you have a package you HAVE to check in before you head to the parks, otherwise you won't have your admission media!

You should have in your carry on whatever you need for the day in the parks, and not plan on seeing your checked luggage until you return to the resort later that day. And if your room isn't ready, you can leave your carry on (after taking out what you need for the day and leaving what you needed for the flight) with Bell Services for later retrieval/delivery. Different resorts seem to do that differently, you may have to call down/go get it yourself (your choice) - or it might be in your room with your DME bags.

We came in around midnight to POP so we opted to have them deliver the luggage the next day. Well, they got busy so we had to go get it ourselves. They did offer to deliver them in a few hours but we just went and got them. This may be more of an issue if you have a large group or it may have just been a fluke.

Basically you can get it delivered that night (like 2AM) or the next day.

We checked into Port Orleans Riverside at 6:00am in order to receive our park tickets and start our package going for the trip. We were not able to get into the room until after 3pm... but that was OK as we had already had the chance to go fishing, parasailing, tubing, take a tour, and eat a meal before 3pm!

Thanks all.

It ends up that we need to change our room the next day, and we didn't plan on doing anythign other than crashing that first (late) night anyway. We will request Bell Services to put our bags in our new room the next day.
