There has been a lot of press about the new animation in the nemo attraction. There has been a little bit of mention that the new subs run on batteries instead of diesel. It got me to wondering more about the new technology and how it compares to the older technology.

So...

Does anyone know if the electric motor and batteries displaced any rider capacity, or do the old subs seat the exact same number as the old ones?

Does anyone know how much diesel fuel the old subs carried and how long that would power them?

Does anyone know anything about the charging operation of the new subs? Does a charge last an entire day? Are the subs recharged during load/unload?

Used to seat 38. Now 40 will fit. See the DLR Update (http://www.mouseplanet.com/articles.php?art=dl070611xx) for June 11.

Don't know but one of the much more knowledgeable folks on MP will!

The batteries pick up their charge from the track. See this post. (http://mousepad.mouseplanet.com/showpost.php?p=1075993&postcount=44)
