View Full Version : Disneyland Magical Memories

I would love to hear about people's most magical times in Disneyland park. I know there might already be a thread about this, but...

Mine happened a few years ago, when I visited the park with my entire family, including my best friend, who at the time also happened to be my brother's girlfriend. We did Disneyland the way I absolutely love to - going to the park early and staying til close, every day.

On one of the days, we had dinner reservations with my parents at Club 33, which is obviously very exciting. My family had gone to Disneyland several times while I was in college, but it always seemed to coincide with a big midterm or final and I was never able to meet them down there. They would always eat lunch or dinner at Club 33 and I was always jealous, so this time I was so excited to be able to go!

While at Club 33, we had the NICEST, most knowledgeable waiter, who told us secrets about the restaurant, recommended the most awesome dishes on the menu, and promised to give us a guided tour. He let us stick around for the fireworks, which we watched from the Club's balcony and we got to wander around on the balcony, throwing Mardi Gras beads to the people down below. He said that if we stuck around, he would give us a private tour all around the club, including the balcony overlooking Pirates (which you have to go through C33's kitchen to get to) and take us dockside for the Fantasmic show. For a Disneyland fanatic like me, I was in heaven.

We had a LOOOONNNNG dinner (3.5+ hrs.) and our awesome waiter gave us a full-fledged tour of the club. We went through the kitchen to the balcony overlooking the Blue Bayou, which was surreal. He even gave us the Club 33 pens that are total collector's items and a Club 33 pin for our lanyards - one that I will NEVER trade.

He then asked us to meet him on the stairs in New Orleans Square, so he could escort us down to Fantasmic. We went up the stairs and he exited the club to take us down to the dock, where we watched Fantasmic - they had delicious desserts (we were all way too full to partake) and it was literally the closest I've ever been to the show and the coolest thing ever!!!

My brother, sister, best friend and I were ridiculously shocked that this happened. It was absolutely crazy, so surreal and so amazing. Things like this only happen at Disneyland!!

The most magical time happens often. Me and my sister and our friend made friends with some of the cast members who work on California Screamin' and if we're lucky they give us fastpasses for any ride. =)

We also got to ride California Screamin' with them last Thursday. We were the LAST people on the ride. It was a lot of fun.

Getting to celebrate my son's 16th birthday at Club 33. That was great!

Last August we had stopped to talk to a CM. He was over in New Orleans Square and had on his lanyard. I noticed his lanyard medal and said, "Hey, did ya get that at Hot Topic?" He laughed and said yes. I told him I had the exact same one hanging in my pirate room. We, meaning me, hubby, and son, pulled over and started talking with this guy. We talked about the POTC enhancement that had just happened and then we talked about the park, and then we spent a lot of time talking about movies. He probably talked with us for close to an hour (he was working the Disney vacation section. Nobody was stopping by to look). Before we left he went to his organizer that he had hidden away and came back with a pass for me and hubby to go to Company D. I was soooo excited. What an absolute thrill for us! We had so much fun shopping the next day (we even got to purchase a few items from the CM only section right next to Company D) :) We were invited back to Company D by a gentleman that actually worked there. What an absolute sweetheart of a man; he has given us personal invites several times. These two CMs have given me some of my best Disneyland memories. I will never forget them :)

What is Company D? I have never heard of it before!

I guess my most magical memory is when my fiance popped the question in front of the castle during the 50th anniversary. I'll never forget that weekend!

Company D is a CM only store with heavily discounted merchandise.

I was so excited to get to make some magic the other day at the Carrousel. This little boy and his mom just missed the cutoff for getting on that cycle, but I told them he would have first pick on the next one and to figure out which horse he wanted while it was going. His mom asked me about Lillian's favorite with the golden tooth and I pointed out Dante and explained that the tooth is currently missing, but that's the one that normally has it. Then I told them all about Jingles and how he's the lead horse and was Walt's favorite and also has three hidden Mickey's on it. The boy got all excited and decided to ride Jingles. The mom then said she didn't know they had names. I told her that most of them do, but some don't. Then I pointed out one that didn't have a name and asked if the boy would like to name it. He decided to name it "Kayleen" after his sister. So after they rode Jingles, they had to come back around and ride Kayleen. He was so excited that he got to name one of the horses! I hope he thinks back on that memory and smiles as much as I do!

We had one today. We were at Crush turtle talk and my daughter got picked to talk to Crush. My son was really upset (they are twins and like doing things together) because this was her second time being picked to talk to him. So we stayed a little behind and my husband was talking to my son and they went over to the castmember and talked to him asking him questions about Crush hoping this would make him feel better and they told him to hold on a min. and they shut the doors and then Crush came out and wished some of the kids there a happy birthday and he went and asked my son his name and talked to him. It was was nice. Afterwards the kids all wish Crush a Happy Fathers day. It was great. My son went to the cast member and hugged him and gave him a kiss on the cheek (he's only 4yrs). The cast member was so surprised and taken back we kept on t hanking him.

Another time we went to disneyland on my twins birthday. We had just gotten off the merrygo round when a cast member spotted the birthday buttons and came over and wish the twins a happy birthday and ask them what ride haven't you been on. Of course Peter pan because the line is always long so she took us to the front of the line and we got to ride Peter Pan.

My daughter has always had amazing luck when it comes to magical things happening to her at Disneyland! I guess my favorite would still have to be the first time I took her, she was 2yrs old(is now 8yrs) and it was our second day there. We had just walked through the tunnel and headed towards Main Street when we saw Minnie. We waited in line to get her autograph and picture. When we got up front Minnie looked at my daughter and got down on her knees to hug her. It was so cute! My daughter really liked Minnies nose and wanted to kiss it. After that Minnie would not let her go, she held onto her hand and kept my daughter close to her while she signed other autographs., then Mickey came over he gave her a kiss on the head and took her hand, Minnie took the other and and all three walked down Main Street. I of corse was crying my eyes out :crying:as was the rest of my family and my best friend, thinking this is the best thing ever my little girl with the two best chacters ever. When they came back down main street they were dancing with her as though she was the only one there. We took a few more pictures with the three of them. Mickey got down on one knee and picked her up and gave her the biggest hug. When they tried to leave to go back stage my daughter wouldn't let Minnie go, so they took her with them...(only for a second) brought her back out , a few more hugs and kisses and waved goodbye.Still to this day I think back and say ,who does that kind of stuff happen too and then I look at my daughter and say you! I have it all on video and she loves to look back at that amazing trip!!!:) Mickey and Minnie are the BEST!!!

One of my most magical moments happened on our trip last year. I had on a birthday button (my birthday had just passed a couple of days before we arrived) and we were standing on Main Street waiting to take a picture with Tigger. As I got to the front of the line, Tigger held up his hand as if asking me to wait a minute and then bounced over to Pooh, who was taking pictures a couple feet away. They whispered back and forth to each other and then both came and whispered to the CM who was with them. The CM stands up on a bench and yells to the crowd that Tigger and Pooh have informed her that it is my birthday, and that they would like everyone to sing happy birthday to me! So as I stood there with Pooh dancing around me, Tigger acted as band leader and conducted everyone nearby in a round of happy birthday! It was a moment I'll never forget.

I'd have to say one of mine was when I went with one of my best friends and her family at Christmas time. They knew I was a HUGE Disneyland fan, and they found out I'd never been during Christmas time. The whole trip was just magical. I remember walking in for the first time and seeing the tree....I was stunned. Then, they took me over to Small World at night, and I almost started to cry. The whole thing was soooo cool. It was really cool too because I was there with them. We did a lot of cool things like eat at the Blue Bayou and such. Everything with Christmas stuff was just awesome. When I got home, she gave me my Christmas present. Somehow they had bought an ornament there with Minnie and Daisy on it that said Best Friends. Her dad had them put our names on the back and the year. I couldn't believe it...it was all just so amazing....so Disney!
I've taken my family there for Christmas every year since.
