Just curious - in DL on Friday June 8, and Space, Thunder and Haunted were all closed for an indefinite period of time (with no FP dist'n either) and then were suddenly opened. CMs seemed very careful not to say maintenece or anything like that - just that they were not sure what time it would open but that it would open that day.

Do they do this when celebrities are there?

I don't recall hearing about any closings on Sunday the 10th but I know there were some celebrities with the Nemo opener....others saw them around the park but I did not see anyone... how do they usually handle celebrities in general? do they use cm backstage areas to navigate park etc?

Not sure. We were there on the 10th. We were in the handicapped entrance to the Storybook canal (our Aunt was in a wheelchair). Anyway, they escourted Denise Richards through that entrance, which is actually the exit, to be boarded right behind us. No ride closure or anything, just VIP treatment and no waiting.

They tend to not close rides for VIP's, just escort them around.

But you had a lot of foreign and national media that was invited for the weekend, they might have needed to close down rides to allow for filming.

But more than likely, it was just the fact the ride broke down and needed to go thru a safety check before reopening, that happens all the time. Once a safety alarm goes off, the CM's must go thru the check which requires a complete reset and then a test run before guests are allowed back on the ride.
