Curious question for everyone, when you're in Disneyland, What is your preffered method of pay in the parks? Cash, credit, debit or traveler's checks?

I visit once a year, so usually traveler's checks, with a bit of cash and my debit for emergencies.

Credit Card... It's all about the miles.

If CC is not possible (at carts)... Cash or Disney Dollars.

Credit card for the most part (Disney Visa so we earn those reward dollars, LOL--we pay it off every month, so I don't care about the interest rate), but we also use whatever rewards we have built up on the Disney rewards card and cash for those places that don't take credit. (Churros, etc.)

Disney Dollars, I save them up. Every week I walk the mall where our Disney Store is, so I buy a few every week and save them for everything from hotels to food. I'm trying to get rid of my credit card habit.

I use a credit card (or debit card). It has only burned me once when I couldn't get a Dole Whip - Cash only. :crying:

i use my amex card to buy disney dollars as soon as i arrive, and then spend them. it's a great way to avoid really expensive overseas ATM and conversion fees for those of us from abroad.

Debit for everything! Hotel, tickets, merchandise, food. We do take a little bit of cash with us for those darn churros and popcorn for the kid.

We use our Disney Rewards cards, credit card (earning more disney rewards $$), and a small amount of cash.

Debit, Debit, Debit.

No cash for the carts. Save your dough and your appetite for fancier dining experiences. I find that whenever I carry cash, I have this terrible habit of spending it. ;)

Sorry... some folks think that "you haven't had a churro unless you've had one at DL," but they look pretty much the same as the ones at Costco. Same goes for all the other bad-for-you snack foods at carts (McDonald's Fries, Popcorn, etc.). Turkey legs would probably be the exception for me. Otherwise, I use the $12 per day NOT used for snacks on the Blue Bayou and Napa Rose. Those desserts are SOOOOOO good!

We'll go to the bank beforehand and get traveler's checks, use them on big purchases, and use the cash to get little stuff. you can never be too careful!

Not that I know of, no. However, in WDW they do accept cards at that location. Funny huh?

Quick Disney Dollar Tip/Thought

I usually pay with Debit or Credit, but if I want cash to spend at outdoor vending, I will purchase Disney Dollars rather than going to a cash machine since there is no ATM/Cash advance fee for doing this. As a bonus, it is a way to earn miles on my credit card while getting cash out on it (and at the normal interest rate)...

I know, they're driving me crazy and I can't stop sneezing. Lost one of my yard flags yesterday.

Debit and cash/travellers checks.

Well, now you've made me go and read a thread on another site that I had no real intention of reading . . . The thread title is "Credit cards/debit cards now accepted at Tiki Juice Bar!" Since it's not something that I felt I needed to know about, I didn't bother to read it until now.

From reading said thread, it seems that on or about May 30 Disneyland installed a new register there, and CCs are now accepted for the purchase of a Dole Whip. Apparently celebrations may be in order. But please, celebrate responsibly. Thank you.
