First off, I am a former CM that is the family go-to for anything Disney. My cousin is going to be travelling from Washington in June to perform at the Park Plaza Gardens Stage.

Our Dilemma: My aunt's father and mother are in their 80's and are traveling to CA to see my cousin perform. They havent seen her perform ever and this is probably their only opportunity without having to travel to WA. My aunt is convinced there has to be a way to just "escort them in" for just the performance and have them leave right afterwards since they cant go on any of the rides or really walk around the park.

When i worked there i couldnt recall anything done like this, except for CM sign-ins. They are being offered slightly-discounted group tickets, but my aunt feels that a paying this full price is "absurd."

Any help or info would be great.

I've never heard of anything like that and I'm a current CM (though admittedly not at the front gate or ticket sales). There simply would be no way to prove that they would leave right after the performance as I'm sure they won't have someone escort them for their entire stay. I'd say rent a couple of ECV's and let them have a blast! I'm sure there is plenty they would enjoy--rides, shows, parades, dining, spending time at DL with their daughter and granddaughter--that would make a group ticket + ECV rental well worth the price.

Might be worth giving Disney a call. You never know, they might be able to help you out in some way. I mean, it's not likely they'll go on many (if any) rides. Then again, my grandmother did space mountain at 75, and loved it.

Will they use wheelchairs? Why won't they go on any rides? There's also a lot of shows they can see. I mean, who doesn't enjoy the Tiki Room? My dad is anti-Disney and even he always enjoyed the Tiki Room.

They don't do free tickets even for chaperones.

i know what you mean Panfan...if it were my g'parents i would have them rent a couple ECV's and go at the park and have some fun...but i just think these are a couple of the few people *gasp* that dont do Disneyland. (who knew such a thing existed?--hey they technically arent related ;) )

I've had family members in their '80's visit DL, and they always had a good time when accompanied by their younger relatives. I bet there are plenty of rides, shops, and restaurants they would enjoy. The grandparents all said part of their enjoyment at DL was watching the kids have fun.

Consider renting a pair of wheelchairs or ECV's, and making it a family reunion.
