Who is going to brave the crowds for the opening weekend? Will you be in line before the sun comes up? Is anyone hanging around on the weekend or going to the press events? We will be there!!!:D

We will be there. My sons b-day is the 10th, so we were going to be there anyway, regardless of the ride opening or not. I have not decided if we will get in line or not. I don't think our son will handle being in that long of a line.

I am hoping for a sneak peek with the ap on the 6 or 7. We will be there all week, but I doubt if we do not get a sneak peak that I will stand in line for it. I never liked the sub ride, to clostropobic (sp?) for me. And I know my granddaughter will not stand in a line that long, she is two. I am hoping that everyone else is standing in line and we will be able to get on all the other rides fast.

i will probably go - but not to stand in line. I am hoping for a sneak peak spot, then just gape in awe at everyone melting in line waiting for the ride on the 11th. Just seeing the spectacle and energy alone is enough of a draw for me.

Probably me. The park opens at 8am, so the gates open at 8, right? No rope drop? When does the parking structure open?

I'm just concerned that I'll be at a serious disadvantage not staying in a nearby hotel and walking to the front gate. How early can you get to the front gate?

A MAJOR Heads Up, much of Tomorrowland including The Sub Lagoon, The Monorail, Innoventions, Autopia, the Tomorrowland Train Station and Tomorroland Terrace will be closed until at least 11 AM for the Press Event. (The first Jedi Training Academy is at 1 PM on Monday).

There is Early Entry on Monday the 11th.

As I understand it, they will start forming the Sub Lagoon line near the entrance to the Matterhorn (the old Smoking area) and have it go back to it's a small world and beyond.

When the Press event is over and they have cleared a path (removed staging, etc.) then the folks in line will be escorted to the entrance of the FN:SV, that should be sometime between 11 AM and Noon.

So those getting there early, you will have a long wait. Bring a good book, or maybe two....

So, I'd have to be there before opening to get a decent spot in a line that won't even move until noon? Not sure that would be worth the wait...

I thought the press event was on the 10th? I am so confused!!!

Oh, and "the old smoking section"? Is that not there now? Did they move it?

The Press event is over 2 days.

Sunday the 10th has a celebrity party in the afternoon, in which the Press will be allowed to take photos when they enter the party.

Then Sunday evening, the area will be open to the press for a party and a chance to ride the Subs for themselves.

But the Offficial Ceremony and Grand Opening is at 10 AM on Monday June 11th. The Press will be covering that, then moving on to covering the Dream Job winners from CareerBuilder.com in the afternoon.

So as soon as the Ceremony is over, and the staging and other items are removed from the front of the Sub entrance, they will open it for guests. That is scheduled for approximately 11 AM.

As for the Smoking section, it is currently near the Tomorrowland Train Station enterance. Should be interesting to see what happens when the Railroad reopens in June, right now it is pretty empty, but the pathway is not that wide. You can check my photos from Monday the 14th for some pictures of the area.

Ah, no I won't be waiting in line. I figure that the ride will be there for a looooong time so I will have plenty of opportunities to check it out......Plus, I don't really take being closed up in spaces very well (i.e. Star Tours), so I can definitely wait for the hype to blow over.

Er, that is, unless my little one sees it and wants to go on it....then I am putty and I will have to just suck it up, in line melting in the hot sun.

I didn't know they moved the Smoking section. It was still near Matterhorn when I was there for MA. Was it because of the sub line? I don't smoke but my mom does so I tend to notice where they are! The train station is quite a hike.

Thanks for the info! I doubt we will use that smoking section. Too far out of the way! I think the only place we will hit in that general area (of that line I mean) is Buzz and Star Tour. We will keep our happy butts in New Orleans Square for most of our trip!:p

As others have said, it depends on if we win the AP preview contest or not. Hopefully that happens, and we can focus elsewhere in the park on the 11th!

Unless I win the AP sneak peak, I won't be there. I figure by November the lines might be short enough for us to ride it. LOL

That's what I keep telling my 2 girls. Sometime in the middle of winter.. on a weekday... They aren't any more anxious to wait in line than I am so they are ok with that.

I'm planning on going, but I'm not sure. The baby will be a couple weeks old, but if I do go I will be with my SIL and some friends. We're already planning on going later in the week but it's so hard to gague how long the lines will be. We might hit the park that day just to see the lines and then decide from there if we're going to attempt it or not.

I'm going to have to second this statement (or third it). That's the great thing about APs...go there for 1 ride and then leave.

Which gave me a brilliant idea. I will be in Phoenix visiting family for a week to 10 days. How hard would it be for me to leave the boys with my mom, hop on a plane early in the morning, catch a shuttle to DLR, spend the day there, possibly getting on Nemo and then catch a flight home. Hmmm, I just might have to figure this out! Would be a GREAT anniversary present to me. LOL Our anniversary is June 3rd.
