I got the Crown Plaza for $80.00 on priceline. We usually dont go in the summer to avoid the crowds but thats the only time we can go this year. Our dates we are going are 8/8-8/11.

Did you use the "Name your own price" bidding system on priceline, or did you just take the price they give you when you searched for a hotel?

I did the name your own price. 80.00 for a 3 star.

Are those hot dates? I got the Hilton Suites at $45 a night... but I bid about 2 weeks from my travel date.

I get cranky if I can't get into either the Anaheim Marriott or Fullerton Marriott for $49/night. (I'm a Marriott employee though.)

Hard to say whether that is the 'best' price or not. I think it is a good price for getting the rooms to far in advance. I like to use Priceline a lot for quick, spur of the moment trips. Have not paid more than $50/room for a 3-star hotel in Anaheim area but I usually get the rooms with less than a week's notice!

You will enjoy the Crown Plaza. We stayed there one night last year (Priceline for $45) and were really happy with the rooms and service. It is a hotel that primarily caters to business travelers (not little kids like mine!) but the room was spacious, clean and full of perks! The hotel also is next to numerous restaurants (Red Robin, Joe's Crab Shack, OUtback) and across the street from Target.

That seems excessive for Priceline. I've gotten that hotel in the same $45 range that others are quoting, however, you bid very early on when they don't know how full they will be yet. Either way, you're paying less than their regular rate, and it's a very nice property. I especially enjoyed the CD they give you to help you fall asleep, which can conveniently be placed in the alarm clock on the nightstand, which has a CD player built in. Enjoy!

If I were an employee now, even $49 would make me cranky :) It was $29 when I worked there.

To the OP ... was this your first time for Priceline-ing a hotel. If so be happy you got a good hotel for a descent price. I am new at the Priceline "game" so I have been spending considerable amount of time reveiwing "BiddingForTravel.com". Priceline is a Gamble  . Could you have gotten a lower price = Maybe. But you did OK ... :D

I'm interested in the priceline game, but how do you guys get over your fear that the hotel will be a far far ways from the Disney Park??

I've never bid that far out, but it does seem a little bit high. When we were out March 16-20 we had problems getting anything from Priceline for less than about $70. After many free rebids, using my name & credit cards, my husband's, etc, that was the best we could do. It would be interesting to see how prices end up when you're closer to your trip time.

Either way $80/night isn't too bad for a Crowne Plaza in my opinion.

I have a question for those who use Priceline for family visits to Disneyland. How often do you get a double room? I know it is only guaranteed for 2 people. Do you book for multiple rooms for more people? I've used Priceline when we've had 2 people, but not sure about when we have 4 of us going.

True, it can be as far away as Orange, but with a car, that's never been an issue. Priceline is not for those who insist on being within walking distance, but it's a great value otherwise.

I like looking at Hotwire.com first, that way, you do get a look at what is available and the going discounted rate.

Then head over to Priceline.com if you want and bid a few dollars less than the best rate Hotwire is offering. But if you learn the Hotwire system, you can usually figure out the hotel that is being offered, and use that if you want the specific hotel.
