A favorite old-time Disneyland steam locomotive, that is sure to make dreams come true for railroad enthusiasts, is taking the spotlight for the first time at this year’s Fullerton Railroad Days, along with a meticulously restored handcar presented to Walt Disney by the Kalamazoo manufacturing company of Michigan. Also new for 2007 will be tours of two historic cabooses that have found a home at the Fullerton Train Station.
The Disneyland Resort will display the C.K. Holliday Steam Engine, which has served as engine No. 1 of the Disneyland Railroad since the amusement park’s opening in 1955. Named for Santa Fe Railway founder Cyrus K. Holliday, the engine was built by the Walt Disney Co. and is being fully restored to its Opening Day brilliance.
Disneyland Resort will also present the Kalamazoo rail handcar that has long been displayed in front of Disneyland’s Main Street train station. It will travel to Fullerton Railroad Days so the more than 40,000 expected weekend visitors can have an “up-close and personal” look at a genuine “pump”-style handcar.
The Southern California Scenic Railway Association will offer tours of its two vintage cabooses set up on a sidetrack at the Fullerton station: the Atchison Topeka and Santa Fe Cupola Caboose No. 99110 and Southern Pacific Bay Window Caboose No. 4049.
The ninth annual celebration will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 5 and May 6, marking the city’s founding and its historical train connection. The city and the Fullerton Railway Plaza Association will join to welcome kids and their families for a weekend of free train exhibits and tours, including restored vintage rail cars and a modern locomotive. Other displays will feature railway memorabilia, scenic garden railroads and numerous model train layouts of all sizes.
Local businesses and community groups will staff educational, entertainment, food and souvenir booths near the depot, 120 E. Santa Fe Ave. Free parking is available throughout downtown Fullerton or better yet, take Amtrak’s Pacific Surfliner trains or ride Metrolink commuter lines to the station. Well, I've never heard of that actualy... but it sure sounds like a lot of fun!

See, that's the one thing about Disneyland by the way.... no matter how many people enjoy a certain attraction or show, eventualy it will be moved, renovated, or just plain torn down! Such is the case for most of my families favorite rides. :crying:

But, in this atractions case, it's simply being remodeled.

So that's good! :D
