For those interested, here is a scanned copy of the Blue Bayou menu. This is a free souvenir that they give you after ordering your food.

Good grief! The prices are rediculous these days. :( Jambalaya $26.00? Come on!!!! They've lost two of my favorite items too, the monte cristo (which I get at Cafe Orleans) and they used to have an amazing chocolate pecan pie.

There is a different menu for lunch, when they do serve the Monte Cristo. Here is a site where you can view the different menus:

we just went for my hubby's b-day and it was fabulous though. Yummmmmm.

I will miss the salad though, they took away the yummilicious salad with the candied pecans....but I currently cant eat salad anyway so at this point it was no real loss to me, but eventually I WILL miss it terribly.

Actually, I don't think they have a monte cristo anymore, at Blue Bayou. Anyone been lately and can confirm? This is why I went to Cafe Orleans instead, plus, I'd heard the food is not up to par at BB anymore. :( Last Nov. was our first trip to DL when we didn't have at least 1 meal at BB.

I called to verify and they do have the Monte Cristo, but only at lunch, and only when they are serving lunch. (I think now on Sundays they only serve the dinner menu all day. Christmas Eve, Day, NYE and Day, they only served the dinner menu.)

Does anyone remember the special menu for New Years Eve?

Particularly, the desserts.

They had special desserts on NYE, but they were only available after 7:00 pm.

Kind of hard to get over there, by that time.

I was disappointed, because it sounded good. ---Some sort of chocolate raspberry flourless cake....I think.

I remember sitting there and thinking how dumb...they pass out a menu of specials, which I can't order (the dessert part) because it won't be available until after 7.

Why give a menu, if you aren't gonna be able to order?

The special NYE entree was "Surf & Turf" ---fillet mignon and lobster, for $29.00. That was readily available.

But, I just wanted the desserts, though---which, again, you couldn't get, unless you were there after 7, and by that time NOS was a complete madhouse....on NYE.

Thanks, we're going Sunday for our anniversary. Neither one of us have been, so we don't know what to expect when it comes to the food. (In other words, we've heard the rumors of low quality, but if we don't know any better, we won't really know the difference.) The menu will be a nice souviner for the scrapbook (when I get around to it). I love PIRATES!!!!

Thanks for the clarification. I thought they'd done away with them.

for as long as I can remember the Monte Cristo has just been on the lunch menu, even before the change over.
