If you had to choose between being in the park on December 20th or January 4th, which would you choose?

Jan 4th....the holiday overlays are still in place but the biggest crush of 'holiday vacationers' have headed home.

I plan to be there on the 4th. I think it will still be busy but not nearly as bad as Dec 20th through January 2nd.

Jan. 4 School is back in session most places by then.

Not in the Southwestern States, every year more school districts change their schedule to have the first week of January off, due to the large amount of unexcused absences, due to many migrant families returning home and won;t return until after Three Kings Day.

Jan. 4 School is back in session most places by then.Northern CA is out from Dec 22 - Jan 9th. LA area most don't return til Jan 8th. Many are getting out the 20th. I think fewer will be at the parks on the 20th compared to the 4th (all APs are open and most CA schools are out.)

I'm pretty sure we have decided on the 20th, thanks everyone! I actually called our local school district office yesterday to see when the kids would be out lol. The 20th will be a blocked out on my Ap, but I still think it will be worth it. Do I just go to a regular ticket booth for my blackout ticket?

We will be there the 19th. I am dreading it on one hand but excited on the other. :geek:

This thread has eleviated some of my worries. I know it will be crowded but the fact it is blacked-out as well as, true, some schools will not be out yet and on the 4th some schools won't be back in yet, well, those are a few markers in the 'pro' column.

Thanks CariBelle for starting this thread! And everyone for their responses. :)

No problem MouseWife, hope you and yours have a great day in the parks :)

Also, just made a PS at Ariel's for 2:30, yay!

Yup!

There might be other locations where you can get them, and some of the locals might know. I have always had a Premium pass but when my cousin gets a Deluxe and we go on a holiday or something, we just go to the ticket booth and he buys his blackout ticket there.

Cari, you can buy the blackout ticket at the guest services window as well. Sometimes it's a much shorter line.

Oh that's good to know! Thanks! The line usually is much shorter there.

We are going on the 29th and have to buy blackout tickets. It's good to know that we can use the Guest Services window if the line's shorter. I'm dreading having to stand in line at the ticket booth. :(

We also have to buy regular admission tickets for relatives that are coming along with us, so I was wondering if I can buy both the blackout tickets and the regular park tickets at the Guest Services window. I'd hate to jump in the hopefully shorter Guest Services line just to find out that I have to then go get in the Ticket Booth line for the non-blackout tickets. That would be a drag.

Thanks,
Vickie
