This weekend, scheduled for Saturday the 25th. THey were running water through the ride yesterday. Things are looking near completion. All of the logs (except 1???) have been moved out of the back lot. I expect Saturday to be the day.

Too tired last night to post, but, Splash did open yesterday - sort of.

There was a group of Mpers whe ended up at DL yesterday. Techie7 and I were there about 12:30 and got a FP for Splash for 6:10. The stand by wait was already 120 minutes.

Solwly, the rest of our group arrived and, due to Zapppops incredible luck, we ended up with enough FPs to get us all on at 7:00.

At 7:00 we headed to Splash only to find the ride down. We checked back several times and headed back after the fireworks. Stan4dStef saw a friend of hers who had just gotten off of the ride - it was open again!

By the time we got there, it was closed again. It never reopened and we never got to ride.:( Oh well, Sunday.

BTW Big Thunder opened as well and was great - except for that new safety speil. I miss this old one!

The one nice thing about Splash being open is that it does seem to be doing its job sucking up crowds into its 120 minute standby line. Wait times for other attractions seemed much more reasonable considering the crowds.

Oh, and Spalsh Mountain now has a single rider line, so if you're inclined you might want to try that to reduce the wait (though it was long as well).

As Not Afraid & Techie7 already mentioned despite a couple attempt to see it with Fastpass, we couldn't. I'm only thankfull I wasn't one of the many guests that stood for a couple hours only to be turned away when the ride went down.

So, does anyone know if 40 inches is still the height requirement?

My daughter REALLY wants to go on Splash. Please tell me it's still 40 inches!!:p

Rallymonkey, if you click the link in Tony's post a few above yours, you will see the requirements. It looks like it is still 40 inches.

I'm pretty sure that the height requirement was still 40". When we rode it at about 3:15, the wait was 120 minutes, and FP's were gone. We got ours before noon. Unless you want to wait for a long time on a weekend day, you should definitely get your First FP for this ride.

Oh...and the safety audio before BTMR does stink. Someone mentioned the way "Wilderness" is said, and I agree that it sounds weird. Like I said to my friend, we're creatures of habit, and we like familiarity. But I definitely think the new message...in addition to being "new," is just lame. I can live with the spanish speech which seems to be appearing on more of the rides. That is a large segment of visitors to the park.

Also gone is "hang on to your hats and glasses." I think it was a more detailed explanation. Perhaps they've been sued from people who lost hats because the warning was not elaborate enough. Does anybody recall exactly what the new wording is regarding this item?

Mouseinfo.com has an .mp3 of the new BTM safety spiel up at http://www.mouseinfo.com/showupdate.php?id=20020525&page=27

I haven't listened to it yet, as my computer doesn't seem willing to play sounds today, but I thought some of you may be interested.
