I did do a quick search and saw this mentioned in several threads. Why is it boarded up? Is it closed forever? My apologies if I missed a thread. Thanks.

It is!? Oh joy!

...or perhaps they need to do a quick rehab to install a strip pole in the store.

Outraged mothers?

Or maybe Disney didn't want the competition for their Be-A-Princess action in Fantasyland? Li'l Miss Harlot -- as Little tod calls it -- might be cutting in on the tiara-and-fairy-wings sales...

On Monday I noticed that the front door was blocked, but the side door was still open. Perhaps they are fixing the sidewalk out front, or the signage.

Closed forever? One can but hope.

Hmm. "Little Miss Harlot"? Maybe. Or perhaps "Little Miss Stepford Wife." Or both.

LMAO! It kills me to see kids like that. Even in my DS5's class girls come to school all done up and in high heels! They can't even walk... it's sort of a waddle. It's freakin' kindergarten!!!

*snork*
OK. Americano up the nose is one way to quit my caffeine habit...Thanks for the laugh, Lani!

I tried to stir my 7 yr old niece away when we were there (hard to do since we walked by it to get back to the hotel every day...) and sure enough, she was drawn to it like other girls. However, one minute in the store and her cute little nose was crinkled up and she was heading over to The World of Disney...

Thank. God.

One minute in that store was long enough for her Auntie and Gramma!!

Anaheim PD's Vice Squad probably shut them down.

If it's gone forever good ridence. I'm sick of retailers that try and make our kids into grown ups too soon or feed into some pervs kiddy porn fantasies.

[P]erhaps they need to do a quick rehab to install a strip pole in the store.

Those dollar bills the third-and-fourth-grade boys leave on the tip rail could help pay for the Li'l Miss Harlot make-overs.

who only heard about this "tip-rail" business from his debauched friends, just like Lani heard about the "strip pole" from her debauched friends

I guess I am the only one that likes it. My 6 year old has a blast! I do not think it is a "Little Miss Harlot" store at all. I remember being a little girl and dressing up in my mom's clothes and wearing her make-up and high heels. Every little girl goes through that. My daughter has fun dressing up for the day, goes home, washes her face and had fun pretending.

Wish I would have thought of the concept!

I like Libby Lu also. They did my daughter's 6th birthday party last year. They did a wonderful job taking care of nine little girls. All the girls loved the makeovers, dress up, and learning a dance. The best part was when they performed out front. This year we did Girl Mania in Manhattan Beach and I felt they didn't do as good as a job as Libby Lu. Plus the clothes and accessories are adorable. I always run to the sale rack first, and I have gotten some great deals on cute stuff!

Yeah, me too, but I wasn't let out of the house that way! I don't have a problem with Princess-wear and a bit of sparklies in their hair, but most of the girls I've seen coming out of both the DTD one and (especially) the one at my mall, look like mini co-eds at best, street walkers at worst.

Well that's called "bad parenting"

My girls went last December and had a blast. It's not something we would likely do again but once was really fun. They didn't look anything like little harlots. They had glitter and sparkles and their hair done and they looked adorable.

I'm not a girlie girl at all....but I do love Libby Lu and Sephora!!! My 6 year old loves rock star stuff and does love some of the stuff in there...it's all very girlie....it's innocent I think. I would never let my daughter go running around looking like a pole dancer!!!

Yes, that maybe true, but I don't think even Madonna lets Lourdes dress up like that and go out in public.

FYI, the refurb walls have been taken down, and both entrances to Build a .... (aka CLL) are now open ;)

Looks like the just resealed the entrance area (It's a Girl Thing) that is mainly pink concrete.

Have you seen this story re Two Dollar Bills...

One group that has embraced the note is the exotic dancing industry. Strip clubs hand out $2 bills when they give customers their change and the bills end up in dancers' garters and bartenders' tip jars.
"The entertainers love it because it doubles their tip money," said Angelina Spencer, a former stripper and the current executive director of the Association of Club Executives, an adult nightclub trade group representing some 1,000 members.

LOL. That's awesome and very smart... honestly who is going to ask for someone to break a $2 bill at a strip club?

On a separate note: do you think Libby Lu would do my DS5 up in some black eyeliner/eyeshadow? Perhaps tat up his arms with permanent marker? Rip his jeans? I'd keep his faux hawk as-is though.
Then I would set him loose on everyone's daughters who left Libby Lu looking like a "working girl"... just to give the parents some perspective on the future.

As of Wednesday this week, I saw that L Lu's was open for business. Yesterday morning it had a very large crowd milling around outside, waiting for the store to open.

I like girly things but I am steering my daughter clear of this for as long as possible. They do have some cute things, but there's enough pressure on girls today to have the "right look" without going to a store that can feed that in a nbad way ... just my 2 cents.

I love Libby Lu! We were at DL for the Halloween Party and they did her hair in an up do with a crown to go with her Cinderella outfit. She looked darling and was so happy. My husband was a little reluctant but after he saw her he said he thought it was worth every penny. I think it is just using good judgment.

I can't even imagine why anyone has a problem with Libby Lu's. They don't have make up except the lightest pink eyeshadow and a bit of lipgloss. The worst thing they do to hair is put little colored strips of pink or such in it (my niece picked the princess bun with the tiara though and it was as cute as can be). It's mostly glitter, sparkles and a cute hairdo. The mall is a million times worse than Libby Lu's.

Do they even sell clothing there? I saw princess stuff but that was it.
