According to judimouse at www.dlresortinfo.com (http://www.dlresortinfo.com), all they are waiting for are the signs...

Currently, "The Lounge" has had it's "The Lounge at Granville's" menu's removed, and are using table tents to sell the upscale lunch menu.... (The Lounge is what replaced the Top Brass Bar at the Disneyland Hotel).

Why would they change it from a nice-sounding name that pretty much tells you it's an upscale restaurant to something that sounds so stupid and pedestrian? I take it the 55 is for DL, but still. It makes it sound like a highway steakhouse. Blech.

Some of the best steakhouses have strange sounding names.

'The Grill on the Alley'---in Beverly Hills, and that's a $$$$$ place.

'Ruth's Chris'----that's bizarre. Why not 'Ruth's' ?? Who's Chris?

The Charthouse is elegant sounding.

I like the name Granvilles. Actually, I never even knew who Bonita Granville Wrather was, or the historical facts behind the name---I would not have known were it not for that steakhouse named that way.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ruth's_Chris_Steakhouse

The chain was founded by Ruth Fertel (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ruth_Fertel), a single mother of two, in 1965 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1965), after she bought the existing Chris Steak House in New Orleans (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Orleans%2C_Louisiana). In buying the restaurant, Fertel had to agree that the restaurant keep the "Chris" name for a specified period of time. After the original location sustained a kitchen fire, she relocated the restaurant about 1/2 mile to the west on Broad Street and renamed the rebuilt establishment "Ruth's Chris" (under her purchase agreement, the name Chris Steak House could not be used at any other location, and she did not want to lose customers already familiar with the Chris name).

Fertel started to franchise the restaurant in the 1970s (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1970s). By the time Fertel was legally allowed to take Chris out of the name, the chain (and its unique name) had become famous in many places across the country, and she therefore decided to keep the name.

Maybe this is the start of a trend. I'm sure we will soon see Redd Rocket's Pizza Port changed to "Pizza Parlor 55" and Rancho Del Zocolo renamed to "Mexican Restaurant 55"...

Charthouse=best steakhouse?

Huh? IMHO, it's not even a particularly good restaurant.

I would agree about Charthouse. Always thought of it more as a fish place than steaks.

My vote for favorite steak chains:

Del Frisco's Double Eagle - Never had a bad meal or service
Fleming's - Almost as good, better side menu, but noisy atmosphere
Chop House - Cheese mash potatoes to stop any diet

Favorite steak restaurant's name (as well as overall steaks):

Hereford House in KC. Got to love the name; it is what it is.

Since it is in Tomorrowland, it might be a better idea to change it the name to Pizza Parlor 2155. :D

I just treated my folks to dinner last night at Granville's. Yes, it is expensive, but probably one of the best restaurant's in Orange County. I can't include Napa Rose in that statement since I haven't been there yet. But they probably get their meat from the same supplier.

We had Filet, New York, and Salmon. And it was all awesome.

Treat yourself once to the finest in town !

I suppose the next step is to rename the Bonita Tower the Willow Tower after Iger's wife...

As far as Steakhouse 55 - I think it's an effort to push more of a "Steakhouse=high prices" menu on DLR guests. I like Granville's but the prices are already too high. For the money, Napa Rose is a much better choice.

Morton's of Chicago - Now that's a Steakhouse! ;)

[Nigel Tufnel] No, it's better than Club 33, because it's more, 22 more to be precise.

You know, like the amplifier that goes all the way to 11.[/Nigel Tufnel]

unfortunately it's not that funny... ever since the 50th was done I have noticed many subtle moves toward removing references to anything strictly outside of true WDC. So - look for more to change (like the Tower names - especially when they might start demolition in a few years).

History - again - means nothing sometimes..
