there's a short clip of Vault 28 in the video I put up Friday night. This link www.disneylandtour.com just takes you to YouTube, where the video is. You can see the displays. On Thursday, when I took the video, the store was mostly finished, save for some displays and minor stocking.

This DLR update (http://www.mouseplanet.com/articles.php?art=dl060530xx) was one reference to the store in DTD on MousePlanet that I found.

Disneylandtour, If Mouseplanet gave an "Employee of the Month" award for writing helpful and interesting messages, you might give Darkbeer a challenge, and that's saying a lot! Thanks again for the excellent YouTube update! I know many people really appreciate it.

With MousePlanet and with Al Lutz's columns on Miceage.com, the internet has made me ever more of a Disneyfreak.

Sorry for my lack of knowledge , What is Vault 28 going to be selling? I saw from one of the pics posted that it might be props and costumes from movies? Does anyone know or is it just another store?

So the store opened today. And I took a bunch of photos:

One (http://albums.mouseplanet.com/AdrienneVincentPhoenix/VaultDisney1_101106_AVP.jpg)

A very cute (and pricey) comforter / throw blanket made from vintage-print Mickey Mouse t-shirts; matching throw pillows; Vault 28 bar ware.

Two (http://albums.mouseplanet.com/AdrienneVincentPhoenix/VaultDisney2_101106_AVP.jpg)

"Kingdom Couture" vintage Disney t-shirts; Chip & Pepper jeans.

Three (http://albums.mouseplanet.com/AdrienneVincentPhoenix/VaultDisney3_101106_AVP.jpg)

Same fixture, different angle.

Four (http://albums.mouseplanet.com/AdrienneVincentPhoenix/VaultDisney4_101106_AVP.jpg)

Disney collectibles, including a cute new Alice in Wonderland tea set by Elisabete Gomes; Dita sunglasses.

Five (http://albums.mouseplanet.com/AdrienneVincentPhoenix/VaultDisney5_101106_AVP.jpg)

Tarina Tarantino accessories.

Six (http://albums.mouseplanet.com/AdrienneVincentPhoenix/VaultDisney6_101106_AVP.jpg)

Dressing rooms.

Seven (http://albums.mouseplanet.com/AdrienneVincentPhoenix/VaultDisney7_101106_AVP.jpg)

Sleepwear

Eight (http://albums.mouseplanet.com/AdrienneVincentPhoenix/VaultDisney8_101106_AVP.jpg)

King Baby Studio accessories; calendar of in-store events.

Nine (http://albums.mouseplanet.com/AdrienneVincentPhoenix/VaultDisney9_101106_AVP.jpg)

Chip & Pepper jeans; Kingdom Couture tanks; Warhol-print accessories; art by Noah.

Ten (http://albums.mouseplanet.com/AdrienneVincentPhoenix/VaultDisney10_101106_AVP.jpg)

More jeans and such.

The store is pretty much what I expected - small, painfully hip (with an oil lamp-style light fixture behind the register), pricey ($68 tank tops), and quite cute. The CMs were picked for the store, most of them from the World of Disney store. The place was crawling with cast members today, but not so many customers first thing.

There is much less Disney than I expected, and surprisingly the Fred Segal collection being sold at the World of Disney is not offered at this location.

I'll be curious to see how the store does, and how the merchandise selection changes.

For a "Painfully hip" place, they're using wire hangers? (Pictures 9 and 10). Nobody would ever accuse me of being painfully hip - but I sure wouldn't put wire hangers in a store besides a thrift store!

LLThe artist is Noah, and he has other work in the World of Disney shop (lots of Tinker Bell and villains).

Actually they (wire hangers) are "supposed" to be hip and since it appears to have a vintage feel, the wire hangers are appropriate.

When I first read your post, I immediately thought of Mommie Dearest..."No wire hangers!!" :p

I walked into the store today.. It's VERY small and really not a lot of stuff. Mostly stuff for girls/women as well, at least as far as I could tell. I did not stay in there too long.

One more piece of evidence that I'm not hip! (As if the jury hadn't come in with a verdict on that a VERY LONG time ago) :fez:
