What are your favorite things to eat at DL, DCA, and Downtown Disney?

(Please include the names of the restaurants/vendors, as well as the name of the food or beverage, so we know where to find your favorites.) Thanks, all!

I dream, actually, literally dream, about the croissant hollandaise at the Carnation Cafe on Main St.

First day there, it's the breakfast of choice. As well as the second day, the third day... damn the cholesterol, full speed ahead!

Hmmm....some faves from our recent trip a few weeks ago:

Churros! You can get them from carts around DL - there's one near the Haunted Mansion that I usually go to.

The cheeseburger and garlic fries at Uva Bar are great, plus the ambience is cool. They make great apple martinis too.:)

Guacamole & chips at Tortilla Jo's.

Mickey head turtles from the candy store on Main Street or Marcelines in DtD.

I had the ribs combo platter at the Riverbelle Terrace for dinner one night and it was delicious.

And of course, pretty much anything at Napa Rose:D

Bengal BBQ in Adventureland! It smells A-mazing whenever you walk by. I like the Banyan Beef skewers the best. They have (correct me if I'm wrong) two beef choices, two chicken, one bacon-wrapped asparagus and one veggie. The only problem is the price (but where isn't it a problem, right?). It's $3.50-$4.00 for one skewer and I get two for a light meal.

For dessert, I like the fudge!!! Main St. and Pooh Corner have them...I don't ever go to Marcelines, so they might have it there too. I like the cookies and cream. Also, the chocolate-covered marshmallows are to die for. Especially the ones with caramel or graham crackers (or both :) ).

For drinks, I like the frozen lemonade which is in DL by HM and BTM and in DCA by Golden Dreams. Don't try the vanilla flavor, though...kinda weird.

For snacks, I enjoy the pickles on occasion (you have to really want one), the Dole Whips (!!!), and the trail mix available at the fruit stands on Main St. and by Jungle Cruise.

I'm practically drooling just thinking about this stuff...

I got to eat at the new Cafe Orleans recently, and the Gumbo Crepe was AMAZING! Wow, I've had few meals at the DLR that were better. By comparison, the Monte Cristos that everyone raves about looked bretty bad. A couple of my table mates couldn't finish theirs and picked the meat out of the greasy crusts. The crab salad sandwiches were also pretty flavorless. But the Gumbo Crepe, oh yum!

The jumbalaya entree and the pork chop entree at Blue Bayou are delicious as ever. Had those on my recent trip too (I didn't go twice, I did that couples thing where we share).

My favorite snacks of all time are the frozen bananas available at ice cream carts throughout the park, and the chocolate macaroons from Blue Ribbon Baker, although they don't make the macaroons all the time (seasonal?).

Can't recommend anything offhand at DCA. But stay away from the corn dogs unless you like greasy gut bombs (yes, I have an aversion to greasy fried foods, except french fries, see below).

I second the recommendation of the shoestring frites at the Uva Bar in Downtown Disney. Tasty and not too greasy. Perfect with a beer after a long day in the parks.

Jooky, the macaroons from the BRB are my favorite as well. Did you know that if they aren't currently making them, you can ask them to make you a batch? Every time I go, I have Chris (the head baker) bake me up a dozen or two to bring home and share with friends/family. He is always very accommodating in true Disney fashion!

I'll tell you what, they are a different creature hot and fresh from the oven. Drool!

In DL: Turkey Legs and Dole Whips! Hands down!

DTD: Just about anything from Naples. I love the pasta, and the bustling atmosphere is fun for me. Love summer evenings out on the patio...

DCA: I don't usually eat at DCA.

Oh, stop it! I'm a million miles away in Australia and I'd swim to Disneyland if I could for a Churro or a ice cream from main street (since I'm swimming so far I might also drop by a See's candy store and Mimis for some corn chowder!!)

DL: Breakfast: Lovely warm cinnamon rolls from Blue Ribbon Bakery (pancakes from river belle terrace come close)
Snack: Oatmeal Raisin Cookie from Blue Ribbon Bakery, almost taste like they have toffee or something in them, the best cookie I have had in my entire LIFE!!! Tried online recipe, but it doesn't even come close.
Lunch: Pizza Pasta from Red Rocket's Pizza Port
Dinner: Big Barbecue Platter from River Belle Terrace. Yummy cornbread, chicken, ribs, coleslaw AND beans, so good!!!
Dessert: Strawberry Shortcake from River Belle Terrace! HUGE!!!
Post-Dessert: Pineapple Spear!

DCA: Taste Pilot's Grill burger with criss cut fries!!! I long for those fries for years and years until I finally get a taste, fantastic!

Downtown Disney: Chocolate Covered Strawberries from....ooh...I'm not sure, but they're awesome!

:D Oh, this is a dangerous topic! I love the chocolate covered strawberries from the Pooh store by the Pooh ride. It's great break from waiting in the Pooh autograph line!! Also the kettle corn from Downtown Disney by the Lego store is a big hit with my family!! Enjoy!

I LOVE the Nestle Mickey Premium Ice Cream bars that you can get at the ice cream stands!! I usually get them from the cart on the way to Small World or the one on Main Street but they're everywhere!! My record is 6 on one hot day.
My family and I also love the twirly noodles with chicken and alfredo sauce from Pizza Port in Tomorrowland. We eat there at least 3 times a trip.
Also, try a Tigger Tail from Pooh's corner candy store. Yumm!!
And of course, everyone's favorite is churros!! I have to have a little bit of everything whenever I go!! :)

RIP Hunny Covered Popcorn (not to start those several threads over again...) but you will always be my favorite.

Those which are still with us:
- The breakfast potatoes from Carnation in their creamy goodness
- Chocolate Cake at the Golden Horseshoe
- FRESH MADE (I forget the day) Rocky Road at the candy shop on Main St.
- Corn Chowder and Veggie Stack Sandwich at Mimi's (stealing some fries from across the table makes it a bit more delish!)

Ohhh and another RIP... The Plant Sandwich at Rainforest.
Why must they mess with a girl's heart? :crying:

Ok, here goes:

DLR- CORN DOGS. I actually like them to begin with, and I must say Disneyland has the best I have ever tasted. The stand on main street by the Kodak store is my personal favorite.

For the veggie option, my fiancee had an absolutely amazing sandwich of avocado and peppers and cheese and a whole bunch of other stuff I can't remember with a great mayo dressing while we were in Tomorrowland at Club Buzz. It was huge and she couldn't finish it all so I had to help her out which I of course didn't mind. I thought the price on it was great too for what we got!

DCA- The dogs at Award Wieners are really, really good. That being said, I really like the food choices and quality at Taste Pilot Grill. The chicken sandwich is really good, and I agree, the fries are awesome!

As far as the hotels go, I can't realy speak since I've only ever eaten one thing there. But that being said, the meal that we had at the Vintner's Table at Napa Rose was the most amazing meal of my entire life, so I think it bares a mention.

I am just sad that I have absolutely no idea when the next time I'll get to experience any of this gastronomic excitement will be!

I hope you'll all have a Dole Whip for me ;)

Cool Runnings,
Doc

The Vineyard Room in DCA is AMAZING. If youre into wine and quality food then this is a MUST. It is a little pricy but definetly worth a trip.

Jazz Kitchen in DtD is also another great place to grab dinner.

Just about anywhere in DL has a quality item or two.

I will not leave DLR until I get an apple with either peanut butter cups or similar. My DH loves the fudge. Try the pumpkin fudge, sounds weird but oh so good!

Other must haves are a Mickey head pretzel or a Mickey head ice cream sandwich.

No kidding??? I usually visit in the off-season, so they never seem to be making them when I go. I'll definitely have to give that a try! I'd buy up a whole batch just to have all that coconut buttery goodness melting in my mouth for a few minutes.

Thanks for the tip, DangerMouse! You made my day! [wipes drool off chin]

I am a fan of the brocoli cheddar soup and the corn chowder at Pacific Wharf ask for the bread bowl and the soup seperate and extra butter. It sounds totally unhealthy (probably is) but DANG! it's good.

Also the $5 white zin at DCA's winery and Trat are good.

I get cravings (so sad) for the meatballs at Pizza Port, so I order the kid's spaghetti. It usually feeds me and a friend.

Oh and the kids meal at Taste Pilot's is awesome. You can get your little burgers and dress them up the way you want without people making fun of you.

It's all about the Monte Cristo sandwich at BB. Now I hear that since the refurb at Cafe Orleans, they have them there too, I will try one next week and see if they are as good. I also love the Dole Pineapple Whip at The Tiki Room and the Carl Strauss Red Trolley Ale at Pacific Wharf in DCA is a great refresher on a hot day.

 How could I forget the Dole Whip and Rocky Road from DL?

Also The Cove Bar in DCA makes a very good Bloody Mary.
