View Full Version : Incidental Music Performances

I have been finding myself gravitating more and more
to the incidental music offerings around the parks,
especially around New Orleans Square. Unfortunately
this comes at a time of some major changes including
the disbanding of some longtime groups.

So I have a few questions for folks who go often.

Are schedules of incidental entertainment available
at City Hall or the Information Kiosk?

I generally visit on weekend mornings and catch
performances by the Royal Street Bachelors and
Ernie the guitar player as well as the now disbanded
Bayou Brass band. Are they around other than the weekends?
I visited on the holiday Monday and they were not performing.

Noticed a group on Monday that I had never seen
before and a search on the forums did not turn up.
The Delta Daddy-o's doing a-cappella Motown tunes.
Great crowd response. Have they been around awhile
and I have just missed them?

And finally does anyone have any history on Ernie
who plays solo electric guitar. This guy's love
of music shines. My favorite moment was watching
him walk offstage one day. He has a bit of trouble
walking and needs to walk up the steps in the courtyard
after his performance. One day he was so into playing
that he would take a step up then play for a bit, another
step, play a bit. Mind you this is an electric guitar
that was no longer plugged in. So he was just playing
to himself for the shear enjoyment of the music.
Anyway does anyone know of his history?

Thanks,
Michael

Yes.
City Hall, and all Cast Members, have a secret master schedule.

However, few Cast Members read it, and know the acts.

Beware:
They don't know the piano player hours. (I asked, and they looked it up, and could tell me nothing.)
They don't know the princesses and their hours. (I asked, and they looked it up, and could tell me nothing.)

But I was able to learn the hours of PUSH and THE TRASHCAN TRIO at City Hall.

Go figure!

Ernie has been at DL for many years now.

He started out with the Royal St Bachelors and was promoted to soloist a couple years ago, I think it has been now.
The same way Edwin Pleasents started with the Bachelors early in his Disney career and was promoted.
He's a very nice man and I have enjoyed his trio and solo performing for many years now! :D

That said...
The SOONER Marilyn Magnusson (sp) :p, is fired from further KILLING MORE MAGIC at Disneyland, the BETTER.
