How have the lines been for POTC lately? When I went 8/4-7 we didn't get a chance to go with the LOOOOOONG lines, the one day we went on early entry the ride was shut down all morning due to technical difficulties. We're coming down again 9/8-12.

Downtime seems to be the norm for POTC these days, since the rehab.
But as far as the lines when it IS running...we went a couple of Saturdays ago and ,yep, we had to try three times in line and it kept going down, but when it finally stayed up...we got in line out near the riverbelle but it moved pretty quick, considering. It's a fast loading ride.

We typically go on Sunday evenings and the past serveral we haven't waited for more than 15 minutes. I think mid-day is when it's most crowded. Try morning or late in the evening (during Fantasmic it seems to be a walk on). As for it breaking down, we've been so lucky. Only happened once and we were stuck on the boat for about 5 minutes before we were moving again. Have a great time!!!

Here's a little trick. If there two lines, go to the one on the right, it's usually shorter.

yup! thats because the line to the left loops around the side of the building when the lines are long. dont fret, POTC lines move very fast. ENJOY!

Thanks all. My main goal for this 5 day trip (besides just having a fun and relaxing Disney like break) is to see the new POTC...I think we should be able to get that done!

Lately the extended queue has been used, and the waits have been around 30 to 40 minutes. (A full queue without any extensions is about 25 minutes)

That's closer to what I was experiencing last month. I'll have to plan to go early one of my mornings. Thanks!

YIKES!!
Yeah, even though I'm a massive fan, I don't think I would wait that long considering how short the ride is in comparison...

25 years ago, we used to wait for "Pirates" close to one and a half hours. Its a popular ride! The line would wind around near what used to be the "Swiss Family Tree House".

I remember waiting upwards of four hours when Indiana Jones first opened up. I think that was in 1995. I'm always amazed now as I streak through the queue area. They gave you decoder cards to figure out the hieroglyphics on the wall to keep you occupied while you wait.

I still have my decoder card(s) somewhere. Maynard used to hand them out by the way.

I can say that if there are 2 lines, and the left one is out the door and along one side of the nuilding without doubleing back, it's 12 minutes. I found that out on a Saturday during Fantasmic! This was the line Tue, Aug. 22 a little after noon.

Cheers.

When we went earlier in August we always rode POTC during the first Fantasmic, the lines were never more than 15 to 20 minutes and sometimes even less. The lines during the day looked extraordinarily long.

We were just there 2 days ago (Wednesday). We rode POTC around 11:30 am, took the right queue and waited about 10 minutes. It was great!

Someone told me to always take the left line on rides where there's a choice, no idea why though!
