We are heading back again in November and finally have our dates straight. Its now August 20th and we're planning on November 7th-10th.

when would you book the trip? We use getaway :)

I was thinking it has to be 60 days in advance so around september 7th so I can book the Character breakfast at the same time - right?

I book as soon as I can! :D I like to make it "official." We booked July 4th for our Halloween trip.

I had booked our Christmas trip in March. (Got the Marriott's residence Inn for $119 for a 1 bedroom unit, and have a 2 bedroom/2 bath on hold for $169.)

Depends on the trip. I've booked as much as 6 months in advance (last April for an Oct trip), and as little a a month (Feb for a March trip). I think it really depends on what you are looking for and if you have the money. If you want onsite, I would book as early as possible.

^^Agree with "If you want onsite, I would book as early as possible"!! If you want onsite hotels, call now! Also be on the lookout for the stay 4 nights and get the 4th night free promo. We booked in July for Nov and got the 4th night free deal through Travelocity but will have a small fee if we cancel. We booked in Jan for June just to be sure we could get DLH! It doesn't cost anything to book directly through the hotels and cancel if you need to within 72 hours so why not go ahead and reserve the room now? Don't forget to ask about all possible discounts like AAA, Visa, AP rates, or even Senior Rates!

I use getaway when they have the rate I want. You can book without tickets and they have a great payment plan. $150 down, $10 changes & $50 if you have to cancel completely. We have never had to cancel. They have gotten me great last minute deals too. I always at least check with them before making my own plans. Right now I have September, December and April booked.

We usually book our trip about 2-3 months in advance through AAA.

I'd say if you really want to book those dates, do it now!

I booked in late March for a end of May/June trip with a character meal. At the laast minute (like the week before our trip), my inlaws said they wanted to join us at the character meal. When I checked with the hotel, they said to call the day of to book the additional people. And that time of year is probably busier than when you are thinking of going (which is incidentally our next trip)!

For both our March trips, I booked the end of Jan. Had to wait until we had tax money in hand. :) We got pretty good deals both times.

I didn't know GAT would take $150 down...

I like to book as soon as my dates are set. For us that is usually 2-3 months out

we start booking hotels as soon as we have an idea of when we'll go...and if it changes...we change it. Like right now we have hotel reservations at Shades of Green at WDW for December, but we just found out dh won't be able to get the time off, so we'll have to cancel. But we're thinking February for DL - have ressies already.

I am hoping that airfares are going to drop once we pass Labor Day, kiddies back in school, and not as much demand...

LOL. The way I get DH to go is to book the hotel first and talk about it after. :~D I always start with just in case we were going to go I booked the room while I could get this great deal.................

I have been thinking about booking our trip for December 07 now, the dates are available now so why not, the worst that can happen is I have to change them or cancel. I love to plan and I love having another DL trip in the works, it keeps a smile on my face!

I booked in May for Nov.26-Dec.3 and a friend at work is going the same time & is having trouble getting a room in the properties she usually stays in, so I would agree as soon as your dates are firm....book.
