I'm sure I saw a thread on this at some point, but couldn't pull it up on a search.

So, how many miles do you suppose you put in on the average DL day? It seems to me like we probably walked at least 10 miles per day with the back and forth from GCH and hopping from park to park. Do you think that is accurate? Anybody ever use a pedometer to find out?

It's like this ...

1 day bopping around at Disneyland/DCA = a couple of pieces of DL toffee

That's IT? Not a whole package of it? Maaaaaaaaaaaan, Helen, you burst my delusional bubble! ha!

I'd say I walk a LOT, no clue how far.

I heard somewhere that the average person walks 6-7miles at the Magic Kingdom in one day.

It has to be a lot! Especially for those of us that don't have a "plan" when going. With our kid we start out at the POTC always, then he wants the teacups. Then off to Poohs ride, then back to Fantasy Land for Alice In Wonderland. We should just move from land to land to save on walking, but that doesn't work with our kid.

Last time I went I had my pedometer and we walked between 5-7 miles each day.

I'd say by our 5th day in the park, we have easily walked a marathon...

I wear a pedometer just to see how far we walk. Our lowest was 10 miles and our highest was 15! We usually average around 10.

We bought a pedometer for just this pupose on our recent trip, July 18th-25th. Here is how it broke down. I included Seaworld too.

Day 1 (Seaworld) 7.05mi.
Day 2 DLR 10.33mi.
Day 3 12.75mi.
Day 4 11.85mi.
Day 5 11.14mi.
Day 6 10.09mi.
Day 7 7.96mi.(Spent alot of time at the DLH pool and the Lost Bar)
Day 8 11.95mi.
Day 9 10.59mi.

A grand total of 93.71 miles. Our friends laughed at us, suggesting that walking 100 miles isnt much of a vacation. We beg to differ :)

I wish that I had my pedometer on the day we got stuck parking way out behind the hotels with no tram. (There should be a discount when they make you park out there!). Poor little four year old. She fell asleep before we drove out of the lot that day.

Thanks! This is the information I needed to 1) motivate myself to get to the gym every day and 2) motivate my sister to start walking so she doesn't ache all over by the end of day one!

93 miles sounds like a great vacation to me, DwoernAdale. Seems like your info. and Kohl's pretty much confirm a LOT of walking happens in a day at DL.

I think for sure I could eat at least two pieces of fudge and not gain an ounce ;) !

I don't know how far we walked in 10 days, but I went to Curves for my weigh and measure day when I got back and lots 2.5 inches off of each of my thighs from all the walking! I was nervous that I gained weight on vacation from the countless monte cristos eaten, but I lost a total of 7 inches from my body from vacation! woohoo!!

We've averaged 5 mi / day.

FYI - a few pedometers allow you to calibrate the distance by imputing the length of your step. If not, let it count your steps. Then X it by your own measurement. Trivial but it can make a huge difference over the course of an entire day/night walking trip.:fez:
