Please help us settle this....as you're standing on your numbered spot to enter the TOT elevator, there's this voice greeting you. You know, "to our valued guests..." yada yada. Here's the question.....young male or old female voice? Insignificant, but important to our family's mental health. Thanks!

The 'concierge' is a female. She sounds old.

Old female. I'd like to think it is the ghost of "old Sally Shine" or her sister "Abigail" (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0131620/). :)

That is too funny. My family always debate that too.
I've always wanted to ask for opinions on the boards but
thought people would think I'm nuts. Anyway,
I always invision an old lady, my daughter says it's an old man.

NOW, I can hear the voice, I know the spiel, but for the life of me, I cannot remember where its at? Before you enter the library? This is driving me NUTS.

It's after you've gone through the queue, just prior to boarding the elevator and I've personally always thought that it was a woman, her voice is very.....I want to say breathy, but don't know if that's a word, it's almost as if she's moaning like a tortured soul sort of....eh, I think it's a woman.

I found this (http://www.towerofterror.org/media/audio/safety_spiel.mp3) and I"m confident it's a woman.

Sounds just like Androgyny!! ;)

If so, then the proper answer to "Man or Woman?" would be: Close?

I read another thread where folks discussed the gender. My memory says that not only was the person identified as male, but the voice actor's name was mentioned. However, my memory is suspect because I would have said that discussion was here, but searching doesn't locate it so maybe I dreamt that.

That is totally a womans voice.

Those of you in the 'man' group, are totally kidding, aren't you?

The concierge is clearly a woman. :D

I just listened to a walkthrough of the ride on a podcast, and it's definately a woman!

Boy, it's nice to know that others spend an unusual amount of time discussing (obsessing) about these types of things. We're still debating here...2 for male, 2 for female. Also, we just wanted to give a shout out to a super CM who was working at TOT during our visit in June. His name is Brien (yes, correct spelling) and we just loved his faces and interaction with the "guests". If you know him or see him during your next visit, let him know what a fabulous "host" he is. Thanks, everyone, for your input. The debate goes on.....

It is a tough call, but I really think it's a woman's voice... someone who has smoked for years... that's how you get that kinda voice.

She probably smoked for years before...., before, she had been dead for quite some time.

Funny that this thread came back up, I actually called a friend of mine who was an imagineer, he didn't work on the tower specifically but he said that he thinks it might be a guy. His reasoning for that is in the 1940's it wasn't common for a woman to work in a support staff role at the hotel, other than to be a maid. He also cited that he doesn't remember seeing a woman in a staff type roll in the pre-show film which is what he's basing his decision on.

I personally still think it's a woman, but he brings up a valid point.
