Just thought you guys would find this interesting. This was in a local paper Santa Maria Sun.

Nate: In all fairness, the ride itself is not for all tastes. Witnessing animatronic pirates drinking, fighting, and chasing screaming bar maids makes one contemplate the darker side of old Walt. In fact, a good friend of mine blames his lifetime of neuroses on one childhood visit to Disneyland. He claims that he somehow got stuck on the Pirates ride, forced to relive the horror again and again until he was finally discovered. This movie reminds me of his story. I don’t agree that most of the kids in the audience were uncomfortable. Many of them cheered and laughed throughout. I’m just not sure why.

The full review is available here (at least until next Thursday):

Just wondering - is this guy's friend's story actually possible? If your boat gets stuck (I assume that's what he meant), do the animatronics keep going, "forcing you to relive the horror over and over again"?

Actually, I'm the freelance theatre reviewer for this same paper (but I'm never in the office, so I've never met the film reviewers,) and, as long as I'm posting links to the Sun's website, here's my recent theatre review -

And a mention of an art event of mine in the calendar section:

You might find this thread interesting: http://mousepad.mouseplanet.com/showthread.php?t=58038 There are quite a few people that describe their time spent stuck on POTC.
