A Treasure Trove of New Fine Grub and Grog Unveiled in New Orleans Square at Disneyland

Dining Goes Upscale at Blue Bayou Restaurant and Completely Revamped

Café Orleans

ANAHEIM, Calif. (June 24, 2006) - - First the attraction inspired the movies. Then the movies inspired the attraction. Now both have influenced the new dining options at various restaurants at the Disneyland Resort.

New Orleans Square at Disneyland, home to the world premiere of the new film Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest and of the newly enhanced Pirates of Caribbean attraction that reopens on Monday, June 26, 2006, has updated the menus and décor of three of its most popular eateries - - Blue Bayou, Café Orleans and the French Market - - now featuring vastly expanded menu choices, plus Pirate-themed treats and treasures.

Blue Bayou

Considered by many to be the original forerunner of today’s popular themed dining experiences, the Blue Bayou has been Disneyland’s premier in-park restaurant since it opened in 1967. Replete with eternal moonlight, swaying moss, frogs croaking in the distance and fireflies twinkling in the trees, the award-winning restaurant the Louisiana-inspired restaurant reopens on June 25 to offer an array of all-new fine dining for lunch and dinner.

In addition to their keepsake Blue Bayou Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest menus, guests now can enjoy appetizers like Gulf Stream Shrimp Remoulade and entrees like Tesora Island Chicken.

Other menu highlights include Royal Street Seafood Jambalaya, succulent Alaskan King Crab Legs, Five Pepper Roasted Prime Rib of Beef, Molasses-Brined Bayou Pork Chop, Port-Royal Mahi Mahi and the ever-popular Le Spécial Monte Cristo with turkey, ham and Swiss cheese in battered egg bread and lightly fried to a golden brown.

Even the children’s menu was enhanced with the Buccaneer’s Beef Short Ribs and their very own Monte Cristo Sandwich. The kid’s menu is contained within a folded tri-corner pirate hat similar to Captain Jack Sparrow’s.

All hands on deck will be grasping for the desserts including the Tortuga Trio of Crème Brûlee, Key West, Key Lime pie and The Flying Dutchman Cookie Boat, a warm chocolate-chip cookie boat and served with vanilla-bean ice cream, caramel and chocolate sauces, all under an edible collectible Jolly Roger with mast and a Pirates of the Caribbean sail.

Chocolate “after dinner mint” Doubloons are served at the conclusion of the meal. The complementary Doubloons feature artwork from the attraction or are available for purchase in an edible “Dead Man’s Chest.”

Café Orleans

The newly remodeled and now table-service, bistro-style restaurant provides indoor and outdoor seating along the banks of the Rivers of America view. Re-opening on June 25 with an all-new menu and layout, Café Orleans will be open for lunch and dinner. Menu additions include the classic Monte Cristo sandwich, a vegetarian Three-cheese Monte Cristo prepared with Swiss, mozzarella and double crème Brie, plus a Monte Cristo for the little ones that features peanut butter and jelly.

Other menu highlights include New Orleans Gumbo, Pommes Frites, Chicken Gumbo Crepe and the Seafood Herb Crepe. The kids menu features three entrees including Mickey’s Cheesy Macaroni, Citrus Chicken Drumettes served on rice noodles and marinara sauce, and the PB&J Monte Cristo. Each meal includes seasonal fruit and choice of beverage.

The desserts are indulgent and include a Chocolate Crepe Souffle, a flourless chocolate extravagance. The flourless chocolate and raspberries are wrapped in crepes, baked and served with raspberry coulis and whipped cream. The Mickey-shaped Beignets are light and crispy and dusted with powdered sugar. They are served with raspberry coulis and vanilla crème anglaise.

French Market

Pirates have seemingly taken over the venerable French Market. Proof is strewn all about as the interior has been drenched with all sorts of pirate booty and favorite food stuffs. Disneyland Resort chefs have created a special treasure chest of sourdough breads filled with everyone’s favorite treasure – chocolate! This 150-pound edible centerpiece features the likes of Captain Jack Sparrow and all his ill-gotten treasures.
