Trip report, June 22nd.

I dropped by DL on my way home from an errand in Santa Ana.
Couldn't stay all day. But I was so close, how could I not re-charge my batteries for a couple of hours?

*****

Arrived about noon time.
Hot and sunny, if that isn't redundant.

The CHEVRON gasoline station at Katella and Harbor is torn down. I could not read the sign on the fence to see if it was moving, or what.
I have used that gas station countless times.

I parked on GOOFY G-2, so the walk from MICKEY AND FRIENDS to the tram was a little more than normal.

Modest line at the entrance of DLP.

• Piano player, "Robert", is good.
He's got style. He played TIGER RAG with his elbow (for the "roar").
When he asked for requests, I said, "Something Gershwin-ish, something 1920s."
And he did a fabulous George Gershwin medley.
The intro and outro was the blue chords a la RHAPSODY IN BLUE.
He played the real introductory verse of SWANEE.
I was smiling all the way through.
I told Robert, "Right on the money. Fabulous!"
He likes to cross over his left hand over his right for some tickling treble, a la CHICO MARX.
So, he is a showman, not just a piano player.
Please keep a look out for the piano players for me, so that we know who besides ALAN and JOHNNY is gigging on Main Street.

• Main Street bakery, I had a chocolate-filled croissant and an orange freeze.
What is an "orange freeze"?--It is like an Orange Julius with whipped cream.

• What princesses were out?
I saw Ariel, Aurora, Cinderella.
Cinderella had her prince with her.

• The new edition of SNOW WHITE - THE MUSICAL is now regular daily.
That is one of my favorite things.
When they start singing "Someday my prince will come" it gives me shivers.
When the prince kisses the "dead" Snow White and she arises, the audience applauds.--That gives me the shivers.
The dancing animals have added one move which I did not see last year. -- OWL carries BLUEBIRD for a couple of twirls. I don't remember any carrying moves from last year's edition.
DOPEY is better. More schtick. I like the extras.
They have intertwined WHISTLE WHILE YOU WORK with HEIGH HO in a way which differs from last year. I was impressed with the arrangement.

While awaiting SNOW WHITE THE MUSICAL, I had their knockwurst, with peppers and onions. Good. With Coca Cola, and their fruit bar (not DOLE). Comes with potato chips. $11.00.

Had to hop back on the freeway BEFORE RUSH HOUR BEGAN, so I did not make a full day of it.

What a great way to finish off your day. Thanks for sharing. I loved the Snow White musical too. The set is so magical to me!

I was at the park the same time you were there today. Indiana Jones was down all morning, so people were a bit grumpy in Adventure Land.

I saw a new piano player on Tuesday. Looked to be in his twenties, and he also did a lot of the hand crossing while playing. His nametag said "Johnny", however, so either they've got more than one new substitute player, or he's been doing the old nametag switcheroo.

...Looked to be in his twenties, and he also did a lot of the hand crossing while playing...

Well, "Robert" is no spring chicken.

So this "Johnny", if his name tag is genuine, is a "new" "Johnny".

The "old" "Johnny" is red-haired, and, from a distance, fooled me into thinking, "Hey, isn't that Rod Miller?"
