I am very curious to know what he did in the Disney company. My boyfriend believes he is the creator of Space Mt. Is that true?

Yes, it is true. We are very proud to have George as a contributor to MousePlanet; here are some of his many articles (http://www.google.com/custom?q=George+McGinnis&sa=Search&cof=AH%3Acenter%3BS%3Ahttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.mouseplanet .com%3BAWFID%3A6b17827e96feb012%3B&domains=mouseplanet.com&sitesearch=mouseplanet.com).

Really that is funny...he wants to name our son after him, McGinnis...now I know where he got it from.

I've had the great pleasure of meeting with George many times over the years. And I do know of most of his many accomplishments and can opinion from the short time I've spent in his company...that's he's a first rate and very funny gentleman, in his own softspoken way. :)

I believe MousePad's Mark Goldhaber has kept fairly well in touch with him in recent years. But I could be mistaken.

That really helps, thank you. Glad to know he picked a cool guy to name our son after. Sounds funny but he wanted a "Disney" name again, and when he came up with this one I was suprised. What other things has he done within the company do you know?

George is a really nice guy, and is still very sharp. When I rode Space Mountain with him back in November, he was noting design issues as we went through the queue (including an ironic note to the John Hench tribute).

He's planning to be at the NFFC convention this summer, if you'd like the chance to meet him.
