Today we enjoyed a character breakfast at the Plaza Inn. Here is my report: We arrived at Disneyland before the opening (9AM today) and made our way to Toon Town to enjoy the Morning Madness. Our PS time for the Plaza Inn was 10:00 AM, and we showed up right at that time after enjoying an hour in Toon Town. We were seated almost immediately after paying the hefty $86.11 bill (two adults and three kids). It was worth it. The food was great. After paying the bill I was determined to eat lots of everything ($21.00/adult breakfast was biting at my wallet I think). They had a good selection of all types of breakfast eggs, including made-to-order omelets, breakfast meats, pastries, and fruit. The best thing on the menu were the Mickey Mouse shaped waffles smothered with strawberries and a huge mound of whipped cream.

My wife was very thankful for the hearty meal, the relaxed environment, and the very friendly service. As for characters, we simply sat and ate while 9 different characters graced our table, signed autographs, and posed for photographs with my children. That was a great way to fill up an autograph album without crowding in the hot sun.

All in all, it was an experience worth the price.

Sounds like fun! Do you remember what characters were there? Nine characters is really good compared to the character meals I've been to. My experience has been that it's usually five or less. Then again we did the Princess Breakfast at the Plaza Inn in November 2004 and it was full of characters. I wonder if the Plaza Inn has so many because it's inside the park.

Characters:

Fairy God Mother (http://cartwrights.smugmug.com/photos/72667860-M.jpg)
Gipetto(sp) (http://cartwrights.smugmug.com/photos/72668798-M.jpg)
Eyore (http://cartwrights.smugmug.com/photos/72667915-M.jpg)
Wolf (http://cartwrights.smugmug.com/photos/72668771-M.jpg)
Pooh (http://cartwrights.smugmug.com/photos/72668007-M.jpg)
Tiger (http://cartwrights.smugmug.com/photos/72668056-M.jpg)
Hook (http://cartwrights.smugmug.com/photos/72668091-M.jpg)
Minnie (http://cartwrights.smugmug.com/photos/72668222-M.jpg)
Mickey (no photo)

I don't know if that is a normal amount of characters or not. It was fun to have time with each of them. I did feel bad for the several people who came inside the restaraunt to get autographs and were told to go away (politely of course) by the cast members because they were not there for breakfast. You get a stamp on your hand when you pay so that the escorts know if you are a paying customer or not. Smart move, but sad to see dissapointed kids. Parents should pay better attention and not drag their kid in next to somone who is eating and expect an autograph.

"Wolf" is actually J Worthington Foulfellow, AKA Honest John from Pinocchio. Gepetto, not Gipetto, but close :)

Thanks. He signed his name J Worthington, and my wife completely knows who he is, but I couldn't place him. Even after she described to me several times. LOL. Guess I'm just not a big Pinocchio fan. :-)

For what its worth, he was probably the "best" characther, with his actions and moments very classy. He was very classy.

Wow! Great pictures. It looks like you guys had fun!

I think we'll try the plaza breakfast next time we're there. It has been 6 years since the last time we've done it. Back then it was all Winnie the Pooh charactors- my then 2 year old son loved it. I remember the food was great then too.

It is our favorite place for a character meal. Glad you enjoyed it!

For those wondering about which characters, when we were there in March we saw: Minnie, Tigger, Pooh, Eeyore, Hook, Fairy Godmother and Chip and Dale.

We've always had a good experience at the Plaza character breakfasts! The last trip we did the princess dinner and I have to say it was well worth the money to not have to chase the Princess crew all over and wait in line and the food was worth the price we paid IMHO. Service was a bit 'slow' but I liked not being at yet another buffett where I had to wrangle my plate, Missy B's plate so that makes me more 'generous' of my praise I think ;)

same for me, minus Pooh, plus Goofy and Rafiki

Chip was the only one I didn't get a photo of.

We also went to The Plaza Inn on Memorial Day, 9:20 PS. We saw a lot of characters: Minnie, Tigger, Pooh, Eeyore, Hook, Fairy Godmother and Chip and Dale. It wasn't crowded at all, there were available tables so the characters were actually looking for something to do. We were visited numerous times by each and even chatted with the Fairy Godmother.
I have to say we were disappointed in the food. There wasn't a wide selection, the French Toast was thin and soggy looking. The Mickey waffles are very kid sized. An adult would need several. There was only one whole milk left in the tray, so DH snatched that up quickly for DS. There wasn't a large fruit assortment either. 2 types of pastries and croissants.
I would think for the money they'd have a bigger variety. But I guess we're also paying for the characters which was awesome.
The food at Storyteller's was much better. Sorry to rain on everyone's parade.

Parents should pay better attention and not drag their kid in next to somone who is eating and expect an autograph.I bet some (idiot) parents reply to their kids is, "Sorry hunny the mean person won't let you see your favorite character!". I've got that reply when I used to work in attractions regarding height check.

It's really funny once in a while to see people try to sneek in Goofy's Kitchen, even sit at a table! I can't believe they actually think the restraunt isn't paying attention to who's paying almost $30 a person to be there, lol.

Oh well, I know that's just the fun parts of working with the public. :fez:

Glad you had a good/fun breakfest! :)
