Ok! I am fed UP! The last three times to DL and NO Hunny Popcorn!!! I have only had it once and it was FABULOUS! My family literally fought over the box. So... since I will not be going back to DL for another year.. and who knows if the cart will be there then... can I get the exact recipe from somewhere???
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
My tummy thanks you in advance.

Orville Redenbacher Honey Butter Microwave Popcorn was discontinued by Con-Agra Foods. Check here (http://www.cooks.com/rec/search/0,1-11,honey_popcorn,FF.html) for honey popcorn recipes, though.

Why isn't it out more? If its due to not enough CM to fill the shifts, then why don't the change over one of the reg. popcorns and turn it into the Hunny Popcorn?

I asked in the Pooh Corner shop about it early this month. They told me they no longer make it because it attracted bees.:crying: :crying: :crying:

Thanks papibear!

I asked one of the popcorn guys in May, where I could find honey popcorn. He tried to send me to DCA for carmel corn. That is not what I wanted!

Ha ha... that's hilarious... because of the whole Pooh thing. Other than the context being funny, it's just plain sad. I will never have my popcorn again???? :crying:  :crying:

Thanks Papibear for the links!!! I will be trying a few of them to find which one is the best... poor me... testing out hunny popcorn.

I wonder how this compares to what they had at the park:

And more importantly, I wonder how hard it is to find a store that sells it.

The Orville one cannot compare... just by looking at it I can see it isn't close. The one at the park had the thick hunny mixture poured over it hot right as they handed it to you.. when you picked up a piece of popcorn it strung from the box... a hot gooey mixture of goodness. (wow.. have i gotten obsessive yet??? :D )
I will be looking for the Orville one just to see if it has the flavor so on the days I don't want to spend an hour making popcorn perhaps it will satsify the craving.
I'll keep you all updated as I cook and taste test. If anyone else wants to join me...

From what I can remember from the top of my head (some portions may not be accurate because they were more or less guidelines anyway) the recipe consisted of

1 popped batch of regular popcorn (Orville Redenbacher's of course)
1 bag of Carmel Corn Treat Mix (http://www.gmpopcorn.com/c_corn_f_nut.htm)
1 Nacks Pop Oil Bar (http://www.gmpopcorn.com/pop_supplies.htm)
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
1 cup honey
Free N' Easy (http://www.samsclub.com/shopping/navigate.do?dest=5&item=141065)

Everything but the popped popcorn and the Free N' Easy would be poured in the carmalizer (the kettle seen on the top of this page (http://www.gmpopcorn.com/c_corn_f_nut.htm)), then after about 20 min the buzzer would sound indicating that the mixture has reached the correct temperature. At that point the popped popcorn would be poured into the carmalizer and stirred until it was evenly coated. After that it's poured out of the carmlizer into a pan and sprayed with the Free N' Easy while being stirred to help it from clumping together.

I'm not sure how it would all translate into home use (unless you plan on setting up your own Hunny corn outfit), but hopefully it will give you a point of reference.

In regards to questions about if the wagon will ever return to Critter Country, I will say this. As long as staffing remains at the level it is now, it won't return. It took up to three times the number of CMs to run just to make about third of what a regular popcorn wagon could with one person. The best thing to do is visit City Hall every time you visit the park and voice your concern, if there is enough response it may just pressure the right people into not forgetting about the wagon.

Me either! We didn't see it the whole time we were there in May. :( I guess you told me why...they don't make it anymore! :crying:

I guess it will be one of the memories of Disneyland past. ;)

And more importantly, I wonder how hard it is to find a store that sells it.Although the Orville site says it's a "new product," it's actually been discontinued. It's doubtful you'll find it on store shelves anymore, but if you do, grab it.
